Zack Kassian fits their needs better. - Pecafan Fan
Kassian is not an NHL player as of now, and now is the time for the 'nucks, their window is wide open.
Kassian could develop into a powerforward but he's not quite there yet.
In the long run maybe, but they could use Hodgson's scoring ability in the playoffs this year. |

HF just made a new ranking for our prospect depth chart. Much more realistic and up to date, still a few errors.

So they let you right it then eh? Talk about terrible, that makes you the number 1 on their list |

Hodgson was not gonna crack the top 6 with the Canucks, unless major changes were made... I agree Kassian is a better fit but I wonder if they could have got more for him.

Emelin, LeBlanc, Gallagher and Kristo should be top 4 IMO. And in that order. Considering the 1st two are in the NHL. |

He isn't NHL ready, Hodgson is going to get 50 points...terrible deal for cup competitors, maybe, big maybe Kassian gets on their 3rd or 4th line as a grinder. |

Engqvist, Pateryn, Nash notably.
Not having Dumont/Fortier/MacMillan in the top20 either. |

Bingo. Gaustad and Kassian gone...
Roy all but gone in the off season as Hodgson appears to be the heir apparent. |

He'll play with the Canucks until the end of the season.
And you know what? I wouldn't be surprised if he sees a couple of shifts with the Sedins to see if he could bring grit to that line. |

All of a sudden Hodgson is a the Canucks best hope at a championship? They have that type of player up and down their roster. Kassian is an obvious fit and good on Gillis to have the stones to address that need. |

If the Bruins proved anything last year its that it takes all kinds to win the Cup. As I've said, Canucks are loaded on skilled guys, they needed some toughness and they got it. Not too mention Kassian has legit offensive upside. |

When the Twins get shutdown and that Kesler is on an off night, who's gonna score?
They had Hodgson who would score the odd goal, and who added punch to their 2nd PP wave.
Right now, they're not a better team with Kassian than with Hodson.
And when Kassian will be ready, chances are the window will be closed for the canucks. |
