I guess Hodgson and Sulzer were walking back to the hotel when Chris Tanev told them the news. That's got to hurt. |

Well sabers fans as a nucks fan pretty much in shock after this trade. Are any of you as upset about losing kassian and gragani as we are losing hodgson? Just feel like we got raped on this deal. - codester1
You got raped. Kassian will never live up to the legend that he had attached to him. |

I wish it was Staford going instead of Kassian but not much you can do I guess. - SABRES 89
I think we can all agree but clearly the nucks wanted physical d is far from physical |

Me too. I guess you have to give up a solid asset to get one in return. What bothers me the most I think is that the core is still pretty much intact. |

Foligno looked very lost when he was called up. I think he needs at least another year in the AHL - Rally_Shots
Not saying now... in the future... pretty similar players.

Vancouver wanted to get tougher... staff does not allow that to happen |

Kassian dominated juniors as a man amongst boys. Played with a physical edge.
From what I've seen out his play at this level, hes not going to be anything more than a 3rd line grinder. He may turn out to be one of the better ones. But his skating is average and I dont think hes that much of a "smart" hockey player.
I certainly am not sad to see him go and am thrilled we got Hodgson. |

They will be tougher depending which Kassian shows up for each game.

Sure but we have the offseason. Darcys interview just now was actually pretty good. Hes seems to have a clear direction right now. I loved the moves today. Super super good. |

Doubtful. He will be on the 2nd line IMO, at least to start.

I hope. Keep Roy away from Vanek and Pominville. |

Dare i say great job Darcy? Ok, I just did.
Its funny listening to WGR, onm y way into work, about 230 Hamilton said "well phalsson just got 2 4th's so there is no way Gaustad is going to get you a first, if you're thinking that way you have to stop because it ain't happening'
Goose for a 1st is a great deal for us and Hodgson for Kassian basically is a job well done, IMO. |

I'll miss Goose, but we got the best player in that Kass deal, but not in a way that hurts Vancouver either (long-term). Good trades, good trades. Darcy gets a strong B+ today, and only demerits for what he didn't do. |

I like that Boyes can slide back to the wing where he at least looks ok.
Vanek - Hodgson - Pommer
Leino - Roy - Boyes
Gerbe - Ennis - Stafford
Tropp - Ellis - Kaleta

Its not like they got traded to C-Bus or Long Island.....they will love Buffalo and that team will be a contender for years to come. |

Right there. Kassian had enough games to assert his physical self and he didn't. Usually when players come up you notice them and their hits. Besides his fights, there weren't any hits like we saw in the O.
Cody Hodgson is good. |

I like it. No 3rd line player is ever worth a first. If someone wants to give up a first for him, have at it.
You have to give to get. All reports seem to say that Hodgson can be that #1 center, eventually, and if they weren't as enthralled with Kassian as you seemed to indicate they weren't (sorry, that's horrible English), then it's a risk worth taking. |
