I like that Boyes can slide back to the wing where he at least looks ok.
Vanek - Hodgson - Pommer
Leino - Roy - Boyes
Gerbe - Ennis - Stafford
Tropp - Ellis - Kaleta - Pierceme69
they like Kaleta to much to give him 4th line mins.... |

I guess Hodgson and Sulzer were walking back to the hotel when Chris Tanev told them the news. That's got to hurt. - JamieS
At least they were together when they found out. |

I don't pretend to know the Sabres roster like you guys do, but in light of the deals Buff made today, not dealing Roy and Stafford were good moves...or non-moves, I guess. |

I like it. No 3rd line player is ever worth a first. If someone wants to give up a first for him, have at it.
You have to give to get. All reports seem to say that Hodgson can be that #1 center, eventually, and if they weren't as enthralled with Kassian as you seemed to indicate they weren't (sorry, that's horrible English), then it's a risk worth taking. - buffalofan19
They have been very high on Hodgson since he was drafted, and they think Kassian is a phony. Maybe they will be wrong, but they are very happy with this deal. |

I almost wonder if they move Roy to wing with Ennis and Stafford and put Leino in between Gerbe and Kaleta. |

Its not like they got traded to C-Bus or Long Island.....they will love Buffalo and that team will be a contender for years to come. - LamontSanford

Gillis is insane. I bet Vigneault pulled the strings on this one. He never liked Hodgson. Awful, awful move by Vancouver. |

Whose spot does he take? I guess you could play Gerbe at 4th line center and slide Ellis to the wing |

Yes. Very depth. Was probably #9 or 10 on Canucks depth chart at D. |

Judging by the Vancover fans reactions this is a huge win for us. |
