Those are the thoughts of idiots. Kassian is exactly what the Canucks have been missing since Bert left town.

This is a great deal for both teams. Guys like Kassian don't come around every day.

I can't wait for the playoffs to start. Kassian is gonna kick some serious ass out here on the west coast.

- thebige

I hope he does, and I hope they try Hodgson out with Vanek and Pommer and never look back.

does he have a 2-way?

Why would we bring up McNabb just to sit and watch from the press box.

Unless they bench Weber for McNabb.

Sekera will stay with Myers unfortunately.

- JVince117

Why would Sekera play with Myers when he has been playing with Regehr and has been awesome defensively. Those 2 have been a pairing against teams top lines the last few weeks and have been very solid.

Anyone bashing Sekera this year is nuts.

Darcy was huge this year...

Regehr Kotalik and a 2nd, for butler and Byron

A first for Gaustad and a 4th

Kassian and gragnani for Hodgson

Great trades IMO.

LETS GO SABRES!

You guys need a head case who is a phony?

He's not what you think. He fooled us too so I understand why you think that though.

I think he will be back in the summer....getting Hodgson is great.
You want to trade someone like Gaustad to Nashville or Winnipeg, so that they want to come back to your team in the summer......not to LA or Detroit.

San Jose was the team that was flipping back and forth on giving Buffalo a 1 st for Gaustad...because they were working on a bigger deal with Colorado.

Lines:

Leino Ennis Stafford
Vanek Hodgson Pominville
Gerbe Roy Boyes
McCormick Ellis Kaleta
Hecht (on the shelf)

Sekera Myers
Reiger Leopold
Erhoff Weber
Sulzer

May see Sulzer play with Erhoff on the road trip.......

Notice that Hodgson will go from 12 minutes of ice time to about 18 minutes just because he will get lots of opportunity to play in all situations including PP and PK.....

PS. Expect to see someone come up for the trip to replace Tropp and cover for the injured guys Boyes, McCormick and Hecht.....bet on Paul Szczehura or Phil Varone or Mark Voakes getting looks in the next few weeks because they are centers and this team may need another one.

Going to Nashville will make Gaustad not want to return to Buffalo. Give it up he won't be returning.

Adam's play declined and he kept getting bumped down. I don't think the same would happen with Hodgson.

NHL Director of Central Scouting, E.J. McGuire
Strengths: "Cody is a treat to watch. He is a very skilled centerman who’s hockey sense has him quarterbacking the power-play from down at the half boards. He knows when to shoot and when to pass – his point total reflects that. He’s also a good face-off guy; he can take face-offs with the best of them and win them at the OHL level. Quite an all-around asset to any team that draft’s him."

Can't wait for this NHL 12 roster update!! (just kidding)

Buffalo was an 87 on O, 89 on D, and 87 in G.

I don't know what Hodgson is rated in that game. For some reason i want to say like 81.

Man I hope you are right.

I see positives in Hodge in the points on the 3rd line.

But His size is like Roy Version 2.0.

he is only signed until the end of next year and then could ask for like 3M per year.

And we are STILL STUCK with Boyes.

Brad May ‏ @maydayhockey

#scoop I'm hearing that Paul Gaustad will cost a first round pick if traded! and is looking for a 5-6 year deal at 3 mill

C.B. ‏ @NHLSourcesSay

Teams trying to pry quality out of BUF, as reported here earlier this week, the Wings have interest in Roy, Pominville and Stafford...today teams are focusing on d-man Jordan Leopold, we could see a few moves out of Buffalo.

- LizzyJo

You have to look at who has the 1 st picks. Colorado, Detroit and LA do not.
Vancouver, Nashville, Chicago, SJ and |St Louis do.
These teams will play keep away on Gaustad and Roy.....Dallas might give us Ott for Gaustad, just so that no one else gets him.....I would do that ands then re-sign Gaustad July 1.
Offers for Goose should look like:
Vancouver: Hodgson and a prospect/2nd round pick for Goose
Nashville: 1st pick...although they want Roy and/or Vanek more
St. Louis: Berglund
SJ: 2 picks
Chicago: McNeil and a pick
None of these help us immediately to continue with the playoffs

Congrats on predicting the Sabres would get a 1st for Gaustad.
