Can you guys give us Canuck fans any insight on Kassian? - joshFreeman
he is a big guy with some skill that didn't hit or wasn't aggressive enough in Buffalo when he was called up. He did fight a couple times, winning the bouts, though. He scored some, assisted some, and was quiet alot. |

potential
loafs around for 70% of the game and then turns it on for the other 30% and can be a game changer when he is on
if you keep him with kesler, he will develop fine
if you keep him with other floaters, he will probably gravitate to their level
tons of upside
but potential

You're getting a 3rd liner winger. He needs to be coached to use his physicality more often (probably a reason we were willing to trade him) but he's always out there giving it 100% and he's a tough sunva gun. You'll love him. Maybe not as much as Hodgson. But you gotta admit. Hodgson had no future in VAN. He deserves to be on a team that will give him a real opportunity. |

The Hodgson trade makes us a lot less desperate at the draft, IMO. He still might be the best player to take. - nfph
Galchenyuk is absolutely the guy to target
If not for the knee injury he'd be the #2 pick, and we have a chance to get him somewhere betwee 5-7
We get him, we go from having no #1 centers to having at least four #2s (Roy & ennis)
And I think Galchenyuk will become a #1 & hodgson has that potential also
Adam has the potential to be a #2 center also
It opens us up to package Roy to get.....
My crazy hope... Shea weber
But whatever, point is...
Center becomes a strength for this team really quickly |

the team just got faster, and has the flexibility that it did not have before today
I am stoked for next season |

props for regier for having the best day of any gm today

Agreed about the day Darcy had but I still like Ottawa and Murray picking up B.Bishop for a 2nd rounder. |

4 picks in the top 50 for the draft can be wheeled into something nice, or add needed depth up front and IMO in net |

You think there is time for me to get a Hodgson jersey for Sturday's game here? - vancity sabre
I think you would be hated by everyone in Vancouver.
I am just curious of what number he will wear. Hopefully not 19.
Maybe 91 or 90.. I don't know the last 90 something number in a Sabres sweater.
Adam is 72 and McNabb is 81 but other than them there aren't any really high numbered guys. |

He has the potential to be a really good tough @ss winger. Ruff didn't seem to want to let him do the physical stuff he is good at. I hate to see him go but they need a center way more. I am glad he went real far away......... |

Those 4 picks along with the access to trade a guy like Roy now will be awfully nice to look for trade partners |

I'm ok with that, I have big friends. Hopefully nothing that high, I don't like any numbers in the 90's. 19 could use a fresh start, no? |

It almost pains me to say it but I'll tip my hat to Darcy. Our skill set and team speed got better and a 1st rounder to boot. Who knows maybe Goose will be back in July.
Hodgson will produce. Kassian will be a rugged 3rd liner at best (IMO). With Cody getting the minutes in Buffalo that he didn't get in Vancouver I think he'll put up solid #'s. This guy could be the playmaking Center we've been looking for for a few years. |

Assuming Sulzer gets waived to send him to the minors, we open up a bit of cap space for the summer. Not much. Grags would probably get a 200k boost. But still, we should have traded him for a pick. Would be better than a defenseman we won't sign back. - TheSabresTaco
Nice job dissecting a depth defensemen trade.......wow |

yes we did get faster by losing Gaustad but Hodgson is not known for having good speed either.
And we also just got a ton softer. We also lost our best F/C leader. |
