More picks
- SABRES 89

Agreed, somewhat. People get too excited about draft picks. The only sport whose draft is more of a crapshoot than hockey is baseball, and that's only because at least the NHL has a couple guys that make it right out of the gate, but that's only if you draft really high and are really lucky.

preds pick is going to be in mid 20's
- leafsdc

Yeah but i'll take a mid 20's pick over a 4th or 5th round pick.

64 million dollar payroll and we are sellers at the deadline, yet Darcy still has a job. All the picks we have had since Darcy has been the GM have gotten us noplace.

Buffalo squeezes a 1st round pick out of Nashville in the Paul Gaustad trade, which included a 5th round pick going to Music City.

Think what you want but to me Goose was worth a first.Nashville will love this guy and probably resign him.

This pick is going to be valuable as a trade asset IMO. Nice to have some spice on the side to add to potential package to get a big gun.BAM

I wouldn't have moved Goose, i'm sure we got more picks Darcy will screw up.
- SABRES 89

And NSH will likely get a back-end 1st rounder.
We will be picking 20+
Not crazy about it but his $ demands were high.

No 3rd liner is worth a 1st round pick, ever, especially one that belongs on the 4th line. If Nashville wants to waste a 1st on him, have at it.

Immediate reaction to #Sabres dealing of Paul Gaustad: Well done by Darcy Regier. Only 21 first-round picks had moved deadline since 1980

I realize a first is somewhat of an overpayment, but what can Nashville expect from this guy? Nice to make a deal with my favorite team in the East.

Holy freaking wow, how in the hell did he get a 1st Round pick for a slow, not all that tough power forward, I think offered a 1st Round draft pick even if he is a Center you just need to say ok, we cannot turn that down.

Do you guys see us packing 2 1st round picks for someone ?? Given the supposed not that greatness of the draft ?

Plays out 2 ways, Gaustad excels and becomes a better player or he regresses because of a different environment and well he just ain't that good.

Everybody hears 1st rd pick and they get to excited, look at where the Preds will finish, also look at who is doing the drafting you trust Darcy?

- keatondixon

For an Unrestricted free agent

What part are you missing?

I'll take that 1st and have the possibility of resigning Goose come July 1st

This is very good trade by Darcy but it certainly does not help us this year.
