From what I've heard, they haven't been high on Kassian for awhile.
- PassionBucket16

Same.......and they think his fight vs Martin was staged, that really rubbed them the wrong way.

He's 24
Homer must have been referring to the Dman we got from Vancouver, he's 27...
Purely a depth defenseman so we don't have to call up McNabb or Brennan & have them sit in the pressbox

Homer,
Is it ok to ask if this was the "big trade" u heard could happen?
Or might it be something else that could still happen at the draft?

I'd love Parise but I think you have to move Vanek or Pominville, which I wouldn't mind, to do it.
- PassionBucket16

I'd be fine with that. Not Pommer but, Vanek. The off-season could get very interesting

Not necessarily.

Moving Regher or Leopold, signing Ennis for no more than 1.5M cap hit. Gives us the room to make a run at Parise. We'd be up against the cap (about $750K leftover) much like we were this year, but it would work out.

Vanek-Roy-Pominville
Parise-Hodgson-Stafford

thats unreal.

You mentioned that before. If it is true and they did it to hype themselves , It would not stand very well with the fans for sure

i can't say yet evn though it didnt happen. I can say this, I just talked to a guy from other team in this deal and he said they would never make that trade.....so maybe it was a Buffalo wanting to do it thing and the other team never really had the same outlook on the deal.

I'll go as high as A-
- Homer

I'm his biggest critic, he gets an A. It was a slick move. I, like you, were not too high on Kassian becoming the next coming of Lucic.

I think that's unreasonable for Ennis. He's going to get more than 1.5 next year.

yes, they are "boys" as i was told. Watch the fight closely, they throw a lot of punches but the punches even look weird and nobody ever connected.

More to it than that, but the Sabres truly believe it was fake. Tells a lot about the kid...if true.

How about that draft? Stamkos, Doughty, Myers, Erik Karlsson, Eberle.

Sick

- PassionBucket16

And still guys like Beach (who I wanted right after Hodgson in that draft) and Sbiza who I think will have impacts.... Wasn't Colbourne drafted that year too.......Ennis, Adam as well...yikes

Only reason I don't give a full A is for what he didn't do. I would have moved Leopold and probably could have got at least a 2nd for the price Dmen were going for.

But other than that, well done.

So what happens when we face Vancouver and Kassian is in the lineup this week?

What Sabre do you think Zach runs first?

Dont you think Zach tells his new Canuck teammates before that game to hit this group into the boards early and often because we dont have anyone to step up to the plate and put a stop to it ?

That Vancouver game should be a treat!

I hate you guys. (frank)ing hate every one of you.

But anyway,

Gragnani, left or right shot?
Left or right side D?

Kassian, in the AHL because coach/management is stupid?
Or because he won a grand prize of 50 Richards to suck and started down there?

What has been seen, cannot be unseen.

Definitely looks questionable once you mention that. They both duck their heads and just toss without looking at each other. Kassian has his stuff pulled over his head and Martin doesnt go for the knockout. Kassian gets it all off and instead of pulling a Rob Ray just goes for bear hug.

Yeah Leopold is an automatic for a 2nd round pick. It's just not the same when Moore and Leopold aren't moved for 2nd round picks during the same deadline.

Agree. Nitpicking here, but waiving or somehow dumping Boyes would have made it an A+ and trading Stafford somehow, well, I couldn't even give that a grade...

I would have liked to keep him as far as him coming back, sounds like he wants 3 mill a yr.
- SABRES 89

If he gets to the finals he will get more than $3 million per year; I and all Sabres fans are rooting that Nashville exits in the first round playing Detroit, Vancouver or San Jose.

I would prefer if they finished in 7th or 8th in their conference.....thereby giving Buffalo a much nicer 1st round pick...likely in the top 20.

This is still possible at the draft. I'd even move Leopold for a 3rd rounder come draft time. Its easily just a salary dump. Plus Leopold will only have 1 year remaining. Someone will take it.

Next year at the deadline, impending UFAs for Buffalo (if they are still here):
Roy
Regehr
Leopold
