He has bought another year or two with me. Look what he has done in this first year with new ownership. If you can somehow erase everything from the past and just look at what he has done with TP he is a top GM. Yes I know he over paid for Leino but I think everything else helps me forget that.

TSN is calling the Sabres winners just based on the Hodgson trade which came after the deadline (as in announced) and was a complete shocker to everyone.

Heres the timeline today combining most everyone's views that I read on here:

8AM: Anything happen yet?
9AM: He better do something!
10AM: *yawn* Why did I wake up so early?
11AM: Darcy sucks, he hasnt done anything. Hes sitting around doing nothing.
12PM: Check out this awesome photoshopped photo of Darcy lounging on a couch.
1PM: Darcy should be fired, the worst GM ever, guy sucks
2PM: Unbelievable. Another year same results. Darcy needs to go NOW!
3PM: DARCY SUCKS! HOLY poop THIS GUY IS USELESS!
3:01PM: Gaustad traded for a 1st, yesssssssssssss!
3:02PM: Our team is going to be so good, we got a first for Gaustad, yessssssss!
3:30PM: WHY KASSIAN!?!?!?!??!!??!?!?!?!
4PM: Darcy is a genius. Pure genius. Absolutely stole the show.

etc,etc,etc

Pegula had nothing to do with the trade
- jzabawaj

Trust me, his presence was all that needed to be done.

Disagree, Darcy knew he couldn't sit back!

Staal has been on the second line all year this year. Remember, Crosby is out and Staal is only behind Malkin, and most of the time Malkin was playing wing with Crosby before Neal got there.

Jordan Staal also is one of their best PKer's and plays on the PP too.

Hodgson is getting roughly 13 minutes a night and has 33 points in 801 minutes, Staal has 31 points in 847 minutes played, an average of 20 minutes a night. Staal is second in icetime among forwards on the Penguins this year and has been around 20 minutes a night for the past 5 years.

A very nice comparison...hodgson is going to get a lot of PK time.....this will be interesting. Move his ice time to 18 minutes a game and he projects to score another 8 to 10 goals and 8 to 10 assists........Kassian is not going to help this team now.

that's actually a good, legit question.....hmmm

i'd still like to see the team go in a different direction, get a GM w a little more killer instinct, one who is a lil more aggressive and pro active in building a cup winner.....Darcy had a good day, no question.....and i am happy w what they did (tho i wish Roy was packed up too)...........but i still would like the Sabres to move on from Darcy sooner then later

If its worth anything at all, you have all already seen the "worst of Ville Leino".

I promise he's worth a lot more of that money he's making then he's shown thus far.

- mochoson

He has shown some brighter spots lately, the only thing that bugs me about him (other than the $) is that he really seems dependent on a certain type of player to make him play well. Like he can't/won't alter his style to help gel with multiple types of players.

It's great to hear everyone try to cover their asses after an afternoon of "(frank) darcy!"

Myself included.

Actually, I went on a (frank) darcy rant to my girlfriend right after three before I saw everything come in.

Get ready for me to sound like Rico...

Take Galchenyuk 1st
Roy, pysyk, 1st(nsh), Sekera -> Shea Weber
Adam, Leopold, 2nd -> Dustin Brown
I think that's enough for those 2
Somehow dump leino
Getting weber & brown entices Parise to come here

Parise-Hodgson-Stafford
Vanek-Ennis-Pominville
Armia-Galchenyuk-Brown
Gerbe-McCormick-Kaleta
Tropp
Foligno
Switch the lines up... Add Foligno & Tropp and subtract Armia & Galchenyuk if not ready yet... But I think u all get the point

Our defense would also be sick
Ehrhoff-S.Weber
Regehr-Myers
McNabb-M.weber
Brennan
Schiestel

Um, that would be sick
It does work $$$$-wise if the cap goes up a few mil
But it's prob crazy to think all that could happen

- jdfitz77

Cap is probably going to go down next year.

I'll go as high as A-
- Homer

B+, if Reiger had sent Adam to Dallas for Ott, I would be giving him an A-; if he traded Roy to get Brown....A+; Sekera for Gagner would have been great too!

These are still minor tweeks for next year.....wait and see.

Because Martin was in tight. That is how you hit someone on the side of the head that has their face lowered toward your chest.
I just don't see it as a staged goon-off

- Purple Eagle

Just watched it on youtube, yeah, no punches really landed. AND, if a guy has his jersey ripped off, and a WIDE OPEN head shot..........he takes it, Kassian atopped, with no kill shot! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fC1ZLG0rfP0[/img]
