Yea, it definitely wasn't a bad day for Buffalo fans, huh?
You guys have always been one of my favorite teams in the East. I hope Hodgson works out well for you. Hopefully in five-ten years this will be looked at as a blockbuster deal that worked out well for both teams. - Brandon_Lee

Why I think this guy might be a little more of what we need than what we realize yet:
Alexander Sulzer
Prospect Grade: 6.5 C (About Prospect Grades)
Profile Contributed By: HF Staff
History
2004-05: Sulzer spent 2004-05 with the Dusseldorf Metro Stars in Germany’s top league. While Sulzer’s club struggled to a 10th place finish in their league, he personally turned in a solid campaign, picking up 11 points (5 goals, 6 assists) in 42 games while managing a +7 plus/minus rating. Played in the 2005 World Championships.
2007-08: After a long career in Germany, this would be the year that Sulzer would make the jump to North American hockey. In his first pro season with the Milwaukee Admirals (AHL), he put up career-highs in goals (7), assists (25) and points (32) as well as games played (61).
Talent Analysis
Sulzer is a solid defenseman, who can combine physical presence on the ice with some good offensive skills. He is a very good skater with a remarkable stamina. His fine positional play and a strong shot from the blue line are making him a good all around defender. Furthermore Sulzer is playing an effective game in the corners and in front of the net. Sulzer is a very compact defender with lots of strength and less weaknesses. However Sulzer should work on his endurance in the next season, to open his way to the NHL.
Future
Projected as a 3 or 4 defenseman
Therefore a nice fit as a stay at home defenseman.....more likely a 5 or 6 - RicoMartin
Good luck with that. I saw nothing about him that indicated he would fill this role on any good team. You never know, maybe he'll improve by leaps and bounds but I doubt you'll re-sign him.

I tend to catch a lot of Vancouver games due to them playing later at night. I usually catch a good portion of their games. It'll be interesting to see what Kassian can do there. He was driving the coaching staff here crazy because he was pretty much doing the exact opposite of what they wanted him to.
Anyone know for sure that CoHo will be in the lineup on Wednesday?

I wasn't very impressed with Sulzer. He's 27 and was #8 on the depth chart here. I would be very surprised if he's in the top 6 for you guys. - Brandon_Lee
But recently was playing ahead of Ballard and Alberts;
was ajead of Nathan Paetsch......an upgrade as a 7th sitting on the bench in Buffalo while the youngsters continue to play.

Because he's gonna have to get his visa. Sometimes it takes a little bit. Just wasn't sure if it's been confirmed he's in the lineup for Wednesday. - HonkFortheGoose
Doesn't he already have a work visa to play in the States?

Nope. Gilbert was talking about it after he got traded to Minnesota. That was also why Moore wasn't able to play right away a few years ago. - HonkFortheGoose

I think he was only playing because of injuries, or just given the odd game when he first got here and was being evaluated.
I wouldn't want the Canucks to resign him. Who knows though, maybe he will elevate his game for you guys.

Should be cleared in about a day though... Moore just couldn't play that night. I remember they told him to take his time driving here from Toronto instead of hurrying in for the game.
Gotta think it should be all cleared up by tomorrow though.
Did he fly and meet the team in Anaheim? I'm always curious as to how this works. He was on the road with his team... Does he get a chance to go through Van and pack a bag or does he send someone to his house to pack his stuff and ship it to Buffalo?
I remember reading the CBA a year or two ago and saw that the team that acquires you is responsible for paying for your lodging!

Im very Excited to see what Kassian can do in our system. I'd also like to say that I love Coho, And am glad hes going to a place where he can get some more ice time to really hit his stride.
Im still mentally scrambled on this trade, but luckily he went to my second favorite team.
Thanks Cody for all of your fantastic moments with the whale on your chest, Hope you have a long successful career in Buffalo.
What's the deal with MAG?
What was he like in the playoffs seeing as he was a ppg player?
What's the deal with the 40 games played this season? - November-Juliet
idk to me he seemed lost out there, that the game moved too fast for him

hmmm.........
Gilbert is American so now I'm confused. - dadeadhead
It might have been Schultz then. It was one of the earlier trades. I just remember hearing it. I was dozing on and off during the early part of the day.
