It might have been Schultz then. It was one of the earlier trades. I just remember hearing it. I was dozing on and off during the early part of the day. - HonkFortheGoose
haha i as well, the no trades and waking up early to watch it was a bad combo |

I have a feeling Pegula doesn't care. - HonkFortheGoose
No I know that! Just thought that was interesting...
Sometimes we forget these guys are human beings too, some with families and we just ask them to drop everything to move anywhere! Part of making the big bucks calls for that though!
I just never put much thought in to the logistics of the whole thing and how it works. Goose, Kassian, MAG have a chance to pack a bag and bring anything of importance. Coho doesn't get that chance! |

Not sure if you heard the interview with Pahlsson on NHL network today, but he did NOT sound happy. At all. You would think a guy would be ecstatic to get out of a city with a team that is in total distress. Especially when he was sent to the team that's 1st in the league right now. But he did not sound all that enthused about it at all. |

Ehrhoff has been playing his arse off here actually, most people around here are pretty happy with him. - Homer
Sat front row behind Miller in the NYI game last week and honestly I was so impressed with Ehrhoff. That may have been his best game of the year and was rewarded with one of the stars of the game.
He was physical in his own zone, of course he is such a smooth skater and a beautiful first pass. Of course I can't forget about that cannon of a Clapper he has.... When he lets that go look out! |

I did hear that, and I think that he's just a quiet guy in general. But he did mention he texted his wife and didn't sound pleased when Duthie asked about his family. |

I get the quiet thing. That's what I thought at first. But he just did not sound happy at all about being traded. Maybe he was looking forward to a longer offseason again. He put in a lot of time in the playoffs over the years. If he has a wife and kids, he could really be enjoying the extra time between the seasons. He's getting a bit older so it probably takes more out of him the longer he has to play. |

Why I think this guy might be a little more of what we need than what we realize yet:
Alexander Sulzer
Prospect Grade: 6.5 C (About Prospect Grades)
Profile Contributed By: HF Staff
History
2004-05: Sulzer spent 2004-05 with the Dusseldorf Metro Stars in Germany’s top league. While Sulzer’s club struggled to a 10th place finish in their league, he personally turned in a solid campaign, picking up 11 points (5 goals, 6 assists) in 42 games while managing a +7 plus/minus rating. Played in the 2005 World Championships.
2007-08: After a long career in Germany, this would be the year that Sulzer would make the jump to North American hockey. In his first pro season with the Milwaukee Admirals (AHL), he put up career-highs in goals (7), assists (25) and points (32) as well as games played (61).
Talent Analysis
Sulzer is a solid defenseman, who can combine physical presence on the ice with some good offensive skills. He is a very good skater with a remarkable stamina. His fine positional play and a strong shot from the blue line are making him a good all around defender. Furthermore Sulzer is playing an effective game in the corners and in front of the net. Sulzer is a very compact defender with lots of strength and less weaknesses. However Sulzer should work on his endurance in the next season, to open his way to the NHL.
Future
Projected as a 3 or 4 defenseman
Therefore a nice fit as a stay at home defenseman.....more likely a 5 or 6 - RicoMartin
No offense, but Hockeys future would describe Bud Light as a robust, flavorful lager that would serve well with lamb and Yorkshire Pudding, while giving it a grade of 4.5C.
Pass the salt.

I haven't seen the nucks play that much this year, cause I didnt get center Ice for the first time in four years (working and going to school full time, too big of a distraction) but it seems like you nuckers love this kid. |

nice, i mean i liked the move when it happened, cause i read a lot about prospects and what not, and havent read anything bad about this kid. But to see how much all you guys loved this kid, is really making me love this move.
edit: and i like the nickname franchise better than CoHo |

CoHo is lame... as far as a play making center goes.. hes going to be great. I compare him to a trevor linden type (less physical).. he will be great for you! |

Hodgson=Derek Roy/ Sam Gagner (but without the speed)
Kassian=Steve Downie (but alot larger)
Good trade for both teams. I would be worried about hodgsons injury problems if I was a sabers fan but u guys got a potential 60-80 point producer in Coho. Also I don't know how you got a first round pick for gaustaud. Everytime i seen gaustaud play he looked really awfull so i think you hosed nashville so good for you guys |

I'm sure we'll like Kassian as he addresses our needs. I know the Sabres and their fans will love Cody. I'd be lying if I said I wont miss him and that at times(when he starts hitting his prime) and being an impact player that I wont regret it. Best of luck in Buffalo Cody!!!(Of course not until the Canucks bring one home first) |

Just a question now that gaustad and kassian are gone who will drop the gloves on the sabers now after losing 2 of your better scrapers and your teams toughness was put to question after lucic/miller incident who will fill that roll now with both of your tougher guys gone? I also really like luke Adam(being from Newfoundland I know lots about him from friends who have played with him) but he is no way a scraper but he will be a perfect replacement for gaustaud. I wish we had got luke here in Vancouver as well |

Best of luck to Cody. Sucks that he's gone but I'm glad he goes to the Sabres. I hope he becomes the solid 2 way, top 6 C that he should be.
Solid, quality character guy.
I like the Sabres again. Couldnt stand Ehrhoff. Here's hoping Cody lights up Lu on Saturday.
And hopefully Kassian can atleast provide a decent impact on this team going forward as it appeared that the Sabres were absolutely stacked at RW |
