i like what he brings, but keeping him, especially with the sabres slim playoff hopes, would have represented a missed opportunity

konopka? konopka can replace what goose brings to the table? i dont think so. all konopka can do is fight. thats not even goose's strong point.

i dont think people realize how much he brings to the table or how much this team is going to miss him for the rest of the year

they kind of even eachother out.... Goose is a hell of alot more talented on the draw... But Konpka stands up for his teamates at all times.... Goose lacked that when it was most important... I love Goose but we got a first for him so it's all good... If he wants 3m... good for him... I just dont want Buffalo to do that....

I would look for a trading partner for Gerbe, Stafford, and Leopold.

I think we wind up like 9th or 10th so we won't get Galchenyuk. Our 1st round pick will probably be in the AHL along with Armia and Catenacci.

Maybe Dustin Brown. I would kick tires on a few RFAs Jamie Benn, Foligno, Colin Wilson.

Goose has performed ok recently but in the the past 3-4 years he would disappear for months at a time and do absolutely nothing.
He barely fights anymore, his face off strategy usually involves trying to fall onto the puck and he was getting paid more than he was worth.
He seemed like a nice guy but from a hockey perspective if he doesn't come back it won't be a loss.

If you recall those teams had several players who had decent scoring seasons... there were no real "scoring stars"... That accounted for the good team scoring.....

Well Toronto did what we expected them to do. Take themselves out of the playoffs.

Now we just need to get past TBL and WPG/FLA/WSH.

TBL has no solid goaltender so I don't think they will be the biggest thing down the stretch. WPG is playing okay but still don't have hte top level goaltender for the the long run.

Even if we do make it into the playoffs I htink Miller is gonna be so gassed its not even funny.

Isn't it harder to manage 5 or 10 players getting 15+ goals than 2 who get 40+?

i honestly think either getzlaf, staal (eric) or galchenyuk will be on this team next year. adam is a waste of a player if he's going to be on the 4th line, he could get traded over the summer.

the fact that we got a 1st for him is outstanding. heres to nashville collapsing completely so that pick isnt high 20's.

i agree that goose lacked sticking up for miller when it was most important, but so did everyone else on the ice at that time and on the team, so i dont see any reason to blame him fully for that

Staal makes WAYYYY too much coin to be able to come to buffalo.

Getzlaf at 6'4 and 225 making only 5.3M is much better.

I personally would LOVE for Vanek to be traded but I don't know what we could get in return whether it be Bobby Ryan or someone else. I would also love to see Vanek sold for picks or what not and then sign Parise.
