Just watched Bucky and Harrington.
Jesus Bucky hates Darcy.
Darcy gets a 1st for goose and Bucky says "at the end of the day this team is smaller and softer"
I'm bad and I don't like Darcy much but getting a 1st for Goose and the chance to sign him back (if they want) 1 july. You have to do that deal. That was a good move. - Pope of Pucks
Darcy also admitted that we got smaller and softer, but that its easier to find gritty guys like Goose than skilled guys like Cody in the offseason. I think Darcy did good things for the future of the organization today, rather than justify a bad trade by making a small "run for the playoffs" move ala Brad Boyes |

I'm realy excited for this guy..but we need cautious optimism..yes, he has 33 points as a 3rd liner, but 3rd liners play against 2nd and 3rd defensive pairings and the opponents non-shut down forwards..as a 2nd or 1st here, he will play against the other teams' best..
again, im super happy, but willing to wait and see |

I have a feeling with how Darcy was talking about Goose that hes not coming back to Buffalo. - theblueandgold
I got that feeling also but I guess you can't argue with a 1st rd. pick. I'm trying hard to find something negitive about Darcy for today but, I can't. Good job for once. |

Maybe the best pure hockey move of the Regier regime
I love Kassian and think he will be a beast of a player in the future, but Hodgson is a bonafide future #1 C and I think hell thrive here. Foligno and Tropp will bring the heat in the future so im not really worried about losing ZK's size
as for Goose, I like the guy both as a person and a player, but you just cant say no to a 1st round pick for him. Darcy really impressed me today. he didnt give into the media and fans saying hes nuts for asking for a 1, and in the end, he got his price.
Im very happy with the day and the future. The fact that they now have 4 picks in the top 60, a great young C, another good young C (Ennis) and a serviceable vet in Roy, they have so many options for the future.
Imagine, next year:
This team could have some combination of CoHo, Ennis, a lottery Center (Gaunce, Galyenchuk) and either Roy OR an upgrade from Roy using him and Nashville's 1st as bait |

You want a good fish fry in the Southtowns, e-mail Bucky. You want hockey reporting, look elsewhere. |

Just because he did at BC. Just asking what very one thinks line combos will be.... - SyrSabreFan
He was switched to the wing in college and hasn't played center since...
I'm assuming for good reason
If we were to give him a shot at center, I'd think it woulda been in the minors or even training camp
It'd be quite a surprise to stick him in that spot now |

So I was looking at our lineup for next year (Post draft). I have an issue. I have too many centers.
Vanek - Hodgson - Pominville
Leino - Ennis - Stafford
Gerbe - Galchenyuk - Kaleta
Foligno - szcezchura- Tropp
Myers - Ehrhoff
Regehr - ????
Leopole - McNabb
We have Roy,Sekera an extra 1st and/or 2nd we can offer up for a really good d-man in return. Say Weber or Suter |

Darcy mentioned that they could use the picks in the first and second rounds or trade them for a NHL caliber player. - SABRES 89
I definitely could see them doing it:
just a couple ideas that I thought of (not rumors, just me throwing poop at a wall)
Roy and both firsts for Eric Staal. Carolina is in the middle of a rebuild, im sure theyd love the picks. Maybe even do Stafford to save cap space and maybe not have to surrender both 1sts.
Roy and a 1st for Dustin Brown and a pick. If they keep the lottery pick and take a Gaunce or Galyenchuk, Brown could be a welcome addition.
Im sure there are more realistic ideas, but just a couple I thought of |
