Interesting people say trading Kassian makes us soft, I've only seen him play a handful of games with the Sabres but I wouldn't call his style of play in those games I watched as bruising.

when drury and briere were let go, i was almost on board with bucky but he kept it up and that was the day i lost respect for him ( i didn't have much to begin with). he was just embarrassing that day. of course darcy was upset as anybody and he took it, and bucky just acted like a spoiled brat. his columns are so ridiculous, at least jerry sullivan is intelligent and acknowledges he's just a bitter man with some thoughts.
i'm so excited for this draft! we have so many options going forward! my top choices are Galchenyuk or parise in blue and gold, and hell, with the moves at free agency and today, i'm thinking it's at least potentially possible, and at the very last not entirely improbable. - FIREonICE
Sekera,Roy/Staff and our extra # 1 for Stastny. I can dream cant I.

I'm not sure who's eventually going to "win" this deal. I do think that Kassian will turn into an effective power forward, but Hodgson is going to be very dynamic for Buffalo as well. Either way, I have a feeling that this will be one of those deals that both teams will look back at years down the line and fans and media on both sides will say "wow, that was huge".

I'll tell u this.....these next few months will definitely show how big Kassian's nuggets are! Didn't kick ass like i thought he would, wasn't the crazy, ready to brawl anytime guy he was touted as!!!!!! He'll be challenged by HEAVY HITTING Brawlers in the West!!!!! Let's see if we will be sorry

Funny how none of us are even talking about losing Gragnani. I'll admit he had me fooled with his play last year down the stretch and in the playoffs. Thought he'd break out for sure this year, but proved to be an inconsistent soft dman that made horrible decisions on a nightly basis. How he managed to get to +12 is astonishing. Good riddance, although I am sure one of the Pegula girls are a little upset today.

I did my roster with about 2 mins to go .. so i lost
Although we didn't wanna see Cody go I'm hearing kassian is something to look forward too and if Cody had to go anywhere I'm glad it was too you guys. I just have two requests :
1) keep his nickname; CoHo
2) love and enjoy the kid as much as we did... Phenomenal & brilliant hockey player.
Best of luck to the Sabres in the next few years
To Coho: rip the leafs a new one on a regular basis!!!

I was really upset when i heard Kassian was dealt. I sat by my computer and skipped my chem and english classes at Canisius to watch TSN. I eventually had to leave. Found out we dealt Kassian, and I still don't know. Sure, he didn't impact the team that much now. He is young, cut him some clack. I'll honestly be surprised if Hodgson does well. I honestly think Lindy will kill his skill. I think that both teams got a good deal. MA Grags will not be missed. We have enough puck moving D here and on the farm. I say we trade a 1st and Stafford for Dustin Brown in the summer. We need a #1 center man that is proven. I agree Cody is the center of the future, we still need veteran leadership up the middle. Dustin Brown, Zach Parise, Ryan Getzlaf. I'd pass on D man Suter. Those are my 2 cents. I'll miss Kassian, thought Buffalo liked his grit and scoring potential, but we did need a center.

I didn't expect him to come in a fight every game but I did expect him to hit guys and finish his man every time. I saw way to many circle from him when he could have planted a guy into the boards.
Love him or hate him at least Kaleta finishes the man.

Gragnani's gonna put up some "big" numbers out there I think, but it's the same argument as the "Lindy will get a job 3 seconds after he leaves here." If it's not something that's working here, who cares what he does elsewhere.
That offensive team is going to make Gragnani a good bit of money I think.
I will miss Kassian, not because of his hits/toughness, but he seemed to be a beast with puck possession and forechecking.

Kassian was supposed to be our answer to Lucic in the division, although he has shown that he isn't the wild man that he was in Junior and looked like he didn't want to engage physically in the NHL some nights. Was it coaching? Was he intimidated? Youth? Too much hype? Time will tell. He reminds me of a young Bertuzzi in a lot of ways, who happens to be one of my all-time favorite players. Should be interesting to see how he pans out. I have a feeling that both teams will be happy at some point. Looking forward to seeing CoHo play for the Blue & Gold!

IMO he doesn't possess the skill or hockey sense that Bertuzzi had, Bert was something special you don't see come around that often, if he doesn't lose his head in Colorado his career looks a lot different.
Totally blown away today. Was sitting there expecting late deal to be Raymond for Allen.
When I saw Kassian's name I knew we gave up a lot. And we did.
I've been following Hodgson intently for 4 seasons and Honestly feel he's one of the best players we've ever drafted. You guys are going to LOVE this guy big time. He's only going to get better every year for about 6 years too so enjoy that.
Hodgson was best player in this trade but I think both teams got what they needed.
We were killed by guys like Bolland and Marchand these past few years so we don't need Kassian to be Cam Neely. Anywhere near an Andrew Ladd would help us immensely.
It was a case for Vancouver where we had lots of sports cars and no trucks, so we got a truck now.
I'm happy Cody went to a team I cheer for and I would love nothing better that to see both of our teams hoist a cup as a result of this trade in the next couple years. Go Vancouver!, Go Buffalo!

You're right. I think maybe I was just hoping that he would develop into another Bertuzzi. Bert was showing flashes of greatness even when he was on Long Island and had snarl in his game from day one.
