Really surprised Clarkson didn't even get a call from the sheriff. What exactly was the point in leaving his feet to that degree? Clearly there was some intent in going high on Dubinsky but he turned in time.
- keatondixon

Clarkson played like a douchebag last night, however, what he did didn't cause an injury, nor was it as reckless as some of the other plays, wasn't deserving of a suspension.

The game was an exciting one to watch but kind of frustrating cause when the devils had chances to score.. They couldn't. Seems like goals are becoming alot harder for the team lately. Guys are making one too many passes. Kovy is passing one too many times where we all would like to see him just rip a shot. Elias had a beautiful steal and wanted to make a pretty play when he should have shot it. The only thing I didn't like about Zid was that after he let te puck out and hooked haglin he didn't keep skating or atleast try and stop the goal kind of looked like he gave up.

Is it just me.

Last year people were blasting Zharkov on F&I and now they all want him on the fourth line.

You're probably the most truthful Rangers fan that has ever commented on my blog. Despite your dislike for the Devils (assuming here) you give them credit where it's due.
- Todd.Cordell

You assumed correctly, one of my least liked teams. But I have to give credit where credit is due.

If these two teams meet in the playoffs (I would not like that) the winner will come out bandaged, scarred, tired... which could impact the next round. If I am any other East team Id love this matchup to happen over any other.
- Devils Advocate

I agree with that...a lot of emotion would be in that series and it would definitely make a deep run that much more difficult for the winner

Its not you....i dont know what it is about that blog but they are the worst comments on any site i have ever seen...

I read all of TGs stuff but i dont waste a second reading those comments....

we win and they plan the parade...
we lose 3 in a row and they want us to blow it up....

they pick on the smallest things too....i watch the game pretty closely and know the sport well enough to see the big picture but frankly i dont give a crap about half the stuff they pick on in that blog

I love proving to them all how stupid they really are, when they make an argument, yet their argument is wrong.

For the Zidlicky bashers.

On that last play.

A. The puck was rolling.
B. Hagelin was a sticks length away from him as soon as he got the puck
C. Because of that, he has barely any room to make a play, except dump it back into his own end.
D. Hagelin can pretty much outskate every guy on the ice last night.
E. Hagelin was skating, whereas Zidlicky was standing still, no way in hell Zid catches up to an already striding Hagelin

Therefore, if you really want to keep blaming Zidlicky, go right ahead, but at least have a solid reason to do so.

Also, why not blame the players on the ice for not taking advantage of the 6 on 5, you should be able to settle it down and avoid the puck battles on the boards, and if it does come down to that, they should be able to win it outright.

I think its because of the blog format as well but it is impossible to hold a conversation on that blog...

I don't even have to bash Zidlicky anymore. His play will do it here on out for me.

Did you ever consider he hasn't practiced with the team once yet?

Dubinsky stopped skating (saw him coming) and that caused Clarkson to miss his target and that caused him to "leave his feet to that degree"

It looked worse than it was. He was trying to go up a little high on him, he wasn't trying to jump on him.

the freaking passing. i can watch dumb hockey and dumb calls and just voice my frustration to myself.. but last night i was slamming my fist on the couch and scaring the poor dog. it was just stupidity with how they were overpassing and giving up on great scoring chances.
maybe they felt pressured and without options because of NY's D? They just kept passing and passing. GET A SHOT ON NET and crash! just throw it to the net. Our best scoring chances were when it would go the point and Volchenkov would actually shoot! That was when i got the most excited on offense, because I knew a puck was at least traveling in the direction of the goal.

It also made me sick how the refs stopped the fight as soon as Clarkson knocked off Dubinsky's helmet. This is what fighting has turned into. i know the league is concerned about head trauma.. and rightfully so, but come on. Head trauma is worse than breaking your hand I suppose.

I'm surprised I watched the entire game. I was talking to my friend earlier in the day and said the rangers would win 2-0 with an empty net. (frank)ing knew they would (frank) up

It's more like they know Dubinsky is bad at fighting and stopped him from getting hurt.

Good post Todd. Yes the Devils have lost three in a row but two of them were against arguably the two best teams in hockey. They held their own and proved they can play with the best of them.

Zidlicky will find his niche soon enough. Give the guy some time.

I don't think it was that bad. He jumped but didn't come in with speed and the hit wasn't hard at all. I agree with the latter.
- Todd.Cordell

It doesn't matter how much speed you have. A player cannot leave his feet to throw a check. No intent to injure but a fine should have been handed out. Shanny=inconsistent

Clarkson got a penalty for it. Every time somebody gets a penalty there should be a fine with it?
