Look the arguement here is What specifies an elite player... If u wanna talk team... yea the leafs need a defensive system and what not BUT with the argument of who is elite in the NHL.... well

Kessel isnt elite....
Lupul isnt elite....

Reasons why
1.) Inconsistent (just look at this bad stretch they are having)
2.) Easily Shut down
3.) Play for the Leafs
4.) Flash in a Pan duo - 1 60-70 point year doesnt justify "elite" status

Now counter with reasons why you think they are elite other than the fact that they are 6th and 9th in scoring... GO

Ok ---- for Argument sake..... how do you count the top ten?

1. Points only?
2. Does Hendrik Sedin's Assist total count less that someone else's goals even though it is a lesser total?
3. Do you take games played into account?
4. Do yiou take empty netters out?
5. Do you allow extra for game tie or winning goals?
6. Do you take into account the unbalanced scehdule?

I think you may have some sort of ELITE FANTASY HOCKEY top ten formula here, but certainly not NHL.

Malkin could fit in there probably, guys who are much better than the rest.

I guess it depends on how loosely you want to use the term elite. If you use it loosely, the Canucks have 3 elite players. If you use it more sparingly, they have one all time.

Yes, I would say Bure was an elite player. He may never make the HHOF but the guy brought people out of their seats every 2nd shift.

Nope just top ten in scoring you can find it on the NHL site pretty uncomplicated for someone not setting police cars on fire.. or vandalising shops.. or vandalising a local families church because the local happened to not be a loser.
