We have no clue how these strange things called "prospects" and "youth" even work. We haven't seen one since the 80's.

Most of our formerly promising guys (many of whom have even proven what they can do in the NHL) in the 20-23 year old range are already be written off as busts.

The roster is certainly no worse than Ottawa, Florida, or Winnipeg. But those teams actually play some semblance of a complete, functional system.
