Play Reimer and let him find his groove....Ive given up on Gus, hes not long term nor is he short term. Let Reimer get experience, let him find himself.
We owe nothing to Gus....he can be back up incase Reimer is tired or injured. That is all.
And I dont want to touch the Schenn debate anymore....you guys are unfair with your critiques towards certain players. - noename09
Unfair?
Giving up on gus?
We owe nothing to Reimer.
Gus has been the better the goalie this season. Reimer is garbage.
He'll find his game alright.....he can call up Jim Carey to help him find it.
Like I said, if you want a top 5 pick...play Reimer.....if you want to win some games...play Gus....he only usually allows one soft goal...not 2 -3.
Reimer is not a long term solution either. Maybe a back-up...but that's it.
Burke has f'd up once again with this crappy team.
Burke needs to go.
Time for Nonis to step in.
There's nothing you can argue for Schenn....it's blating facts can be seen game in and game out.
He's no good. |

would you prefer "reality" to fact?
It will happen within our lifetime.(probably with the next contract) CTV wants HNIC, even more so now that they are co-owners of MLSE. Revenue possibilities are almost unimaginable. - Big_Lightnin
It's one of a couple possible realities, yes. |

True....... forgot about the TSN and CTV connection - faceto27
Yep CBC is done with Hockey after next season...Never have to watch a Sat night Habs game again as RDS would cover them... ...
Sounds great |

So does anyone think a loss tonight = Wilson getting fired??
Or am I dreaming?
Timing works well. Off until Saturday plus they're playing on the road.

Me??? - faceto27
there are way too many Schenn and Reimer haters right now...and its not fair to either of them....entire team struggles and they get the brunt of it....how about the vets and captain on the team...its a team effort.
when the team does well, they are both AMAZING.... ....gets old....
As Ive said...I really wanted a new goalie...but not because I thought Reimer has failed or was a bust...but because I think its not good to rely on a young inexpreienced goalie on a struggling team. He needs help, and thats not Gus. |

You're dreaming. Burke will not fire him now- doesn't really make sense, and then he has to either tie himself to a new coach/contract, or sabatage the Marlies playoffs by promoting Eakins.
Wilson is here till the end of the season for sure. If they miss the playoffs, he is likely replaced in the off-season (by Eakins). As Burke has said "I believe this group is good enough to make the playoffs"
Before it was "I haven't given Wilson the players"
Burke saying Wilson has the players - make it or you're done. |

Anything is possible, but I think realistically he's finishing out the season, even if we go 0-20 |

sure...you guys are bitter about the last 10 games and are taking it out on Reimer and Schenn...makes sense to me.
you guys speak as if Schenn was suppsoed to be a Lidstrom to this team...give me an effin break....you speak of Reimer as if hes supposed to be a Brodeur in his prime. Jesus Christ....this is his second year and still is lacking expericing or a good enough team. Both the goalie needs to imprpve, and the team.
But hes no vet, hes not experienced and to expect more from him right now is unfair. Thats why we needed someone else who could take over when he struggles....but dont throw him under the bus when he does, and expect him to step in for one game while the team struggles and win us games on his own.
Common now.

yup, this Florida game was way more important than most realize - Boosinicka
Step one: tank, doing pretty well at that so far
Step2: draft a center, Galchenyuk if possible, the way we are going we just might be able to
Step 3:Fire wilson, Ottawa and Florida should not be ahead of us in the standings! Our idea of systems is to skate around and see what happens.
step 4: Trim the fat, we should have done it at deadline, anyone who is not part of this team 3 years from now may as well go. let grabo walk, try to move army and Lombardi, we are stuck with komi, so another defense man will likely have to go at some point. let the monster go too.
Step 5: Sign goalie, Harding would be best IMO. reimer can compete with the marlies guys right there is well.
Step 6: go with the young guys next year, Kadri, Colborne Frattin, if they earn the time they get to play
we got some good young talent so once we start playing defense, getting some stops, and have a Center worthy of the top line we could be a real threat. |

No you people speak as if he was suppose to be the next lidstrom, Blake or foote.
He's played almost 300 NHL games...300!!!!
He was a bad draft pic, he's a bad player. Will he improve...sure...maybe....not improve enough to validate him being drafted 5th.
There's a reason why TSN and Sportsnet had him rated as a 5/6th defenseman.....cause he's nothing more than that.

IMO, the one-year extension is proof-fact that he'll be fired in the offseason if they don't make the playoffs. If it was otherwise he would have given him longer term. The only reason he gets the 1 yr extension is to ensure he gets (got) a fair opportunity to control the room and influence the players (avoiding the whole lame-duck situation). Clearly it didn't work ....
Another week and we can start the who's going to be the 'new coach' next year speculation. Do we like Eakins? Carlyle? |

Whoa now, Riemer was arguably the best goaltender in league during the stretch last season. We've seen his name in the top 5 on the TSN stats as well. Miller is a world class goalie and a concussion made him look like a ECHL goalie. Riemer is young and will work his way back, just like Miller is getting his game back.
There's about 3-4 Schenn haters and all of you just talk a lot. I'm really not worried about him and no else who has watched his career should either. Should be ashamed giving up on a 22yr old so soon. |

Goals for the remainder of the season.
1) Fire Wilson
2) Finish bottom 5
In that order.
