Moving backward in time . That was the building's original (pre-opening) name before they sold the naming rights.
Phil Coffey (former NHL.com editorial director) calls it the CSFUWWF Center. - bmeltzer
I liked it when both buildings were referred to as the FU and the FU2 |

The flyers are due to play a complete game and win convincingly even if not necessarily blowing out a team.
I vote for tonight but after coming off a western road trip and playing at home I sense another slow start and struggle to score game.
The first game back from these trips is usually a tough one on teams.
Hope I am wrong. Bryz needs to start. - bird_dog
If the Flyers once again cough up a goal early in the game I have to believe Lavi's head will explode because lasers will be shooting out his eyes and the sheer force of heat will split his head open. Killing many in the first few rows behind the bench. It will be tragic.

They need to be a lot better out of the gate. Fixing it needs to be the focus not blaming somebody for it. |

The tidbit Bill had in his blog was nothing short of astounding. One lead in the first 10 minutes of a game over the last 35 games. That is truly unreal. It indicates to me that this team isn't ready to play at the drop of the puck. How many times over those 35 games have the Flyers given up a goal in the first 10 minutes? Without looking it up I would say 8 at the minimum, and probably more.
Yielding the first goal 8 games in a row, and 11 of the last 12 will grind a team into dust. Constantly playing from behind chasing the game is taxing to every player.
I have been a pretty staunch advocate of Laviolette, but it is fair to ask if the team has tuned him out and this point. He has also lacked in making in-game adjustments all season. - PLindbergh31
They're notoriously slow out of the gate. Been a point of contention for me for a long time, but I have no idea why they come out flat...puzzling.

It is very puzzling, and equally troubling. I have no clue what the answer is, and apparently neither do the coaches. The month of March is grueling, pretty much a game every other day. |

I don't think it's something they're likely to just snap out of, unfortunately, though I'd love to see that happen.

A friend of mine wore helmets with Upshall and Jimmy Dowd during the year of which we dont speak of. He said they didn't even know if they had practice the next day. Told me all I needed to know about that season. |

I just don;t want to slog through pages of blaming the coach, players, media, fans, Ed Snider, the fat dancing guy that one of our posters loves so much, Lou Nolan, the price of a beer at Chickie's and Pete's or the traffic on the Walt Whitman for slow starts.
That stuff isn't incumbent on anyone in particular, they just have to be ready to go at puck drop, from the net out. |

Doesn't appear there is an end in sight. Who knows. I'm going to just enjoy the sport, and try my best not to let the outcome bother me. |

I thought Upshall and Dowd was a weird pairing to be hanging out with, but I'm sure it was interesting to say the least. |

Yeah I know... I should just limit myself to watching Western Conference Hockey. I don't despise any teams in the West, (slight dislike for the Blackhawks) I can truly appreciate the game without having a dog in the fight. Would eliminate a great deal of needless agita. |

Upshall was obviously taking a night off from the Legion.

Oh no the entire legion was out at the bar that night, but they split up for post bar festivities. Upshall and Dowd picked helmets, im guessing richie and cartsey picked tail |

Personally I think the team veterans need to institute a team wide plan on game days to game prep.
Are the players grab butting to much in the locker room prior to games? Is it to rigid in there before games. Is the choice of music all happy go lucky prance around singing kumbya-ish?
Are the playing Xbox NHL12 and the flyers are crushing teams so they come out lazy? Who knows.
Would be nice to have a beat writer who might actually take notice of such things and actually report what is going on with the team instead of writing about Bryz letting in bad goals etc.
A deviation of some kind may need to happen to help the team prepare to play at the start of the game.
I don't think the coaching staff should be the ones doing anything like this.
I would want to be cranking up megadeth, old metallica, opeth etc to really get the blood flowing and the mean game face on ready to kick some butt. |

I wasn't blaming anyone. I was giving a graphic comedic representation of how Lavi will react if it happens once again.

I can appreciate everyone's passion for the team, and I used to get just as pissed off at a loss/bad effort as some of you guys when I was younger. I remember throwing a beer at a bar TV at the final horn of the '87 Final and getting tossed myself.
I'm just done getting that worked up over a game, though it is sometimes entertaining as hell to read the reactions in here.
