Baby steps, baby steps they won tonight.
Despite the breakdowns they did their jobs at other times.
Time will tell if they figure out they have to play D until they don't.
The Flyers are not a cup winning team this year. Not unless Bryz all of a sudden becomes Bernie P. - bird_dog
When are we going to begin to take soldier stomps? We're a month and half away from the playoffs. |

My LTD was so wide, I could lay down across the front seat, with my head on one armrest, and my feet on the other. I am 6' 4" tall.
It had to have two ashtrays in the dash. If there had only been one in the middle, neither would have been able to reach it comfortably. It was a true land yacht. Man I hated to trade that thing in. It was a classic. - BringBack25

I love how Jagr answers questions during the post game interview like Pronger. Heavy on the sarcasm. |

Say whatever you'd like about this team but I would much rather hang on to 6th place and take on anyone in the south pacific. - roenick97
Haven't they had problems with the Panthers the past two or three seasons?
I think it's hard to play in that empty building. |

Its about working smarter. I can count on one hand the number of games I've been dissapointed in their effort this year. Which is the difference from the previous couple years. - Just5
They've been giving up the first goal in games for a month now. Coming out flat game after game. There's been plenty of times during games where I've been disappointed in their effort. That was supposed to be different with this team. I'm willing to give it some slack due to being a new team with a lot of young players. But I need to see some forward movement in improvement in some areas.

I'm a lot more concerned with the Forwards also. They're terrible for the most part in their own end. I'm not a guy that normally puts it on the Coach. But they certainly don't look like a well Coached team defensively. I keep hearing that they're going to work on it, and watch video. But I see no signs of it improving. They basically beat the isles tonight on talent alone and some poor goaltending. Which we were on the right side of for a change. Bryzgalov was a big reason why the Flyers won tonight. - MJL
they are a poor defensive team without question. and i agree i see no signs of any kind of systematic improvement. when the flyers play against teams that ferociously defend, they lose. and that's what happens in the playoffs eventually. maybe not the first round, but at some point you have to face a defensive minded club. it doesn't bode well.

he's bullpoopting his face off right now, in a way that would make a career politician proud. he just talks and talks and talks without actually saying anything or answering the question honestly so that by the time he's done you have no clue what the original question was. |

As mentioned by others, ride Bryz as much as you can. I've been particulary impressed with Grossman. I have to admit I didn't know a lot about him, but I really like his size and positioning.
A few weeks back, I liked the Voracek-Coots-Talbot line as more of a checking line. It seems Lava keeps shuffling the forwards outside of the Roo line, I'm not sure why. I don't really have any answers, but this has to get straightened out before the playoffs because some of the chances they are giving up Lundquist wouldn't be stopping either.

Here's one thing I'll tell you. A team that is committed to checking, puck support, and team defense, will, the majority of times. Dictate play to an aggressive, forechecking, offensive team like the Flyers. Count on it. |

Ive been missing the beginning of games lately. I'll take your word on it if your attributing it to effort. It's something that certainly needs to change. |

Board mood tonight = slit your wrists the team defense is putrid.
Yeah but I have seen this team lose to bad teams enough to appreciate the win.
Bryz is starting to play well. I will join in the chorus of team D lamentations tomorrow. |
