When has he done that He has said many times that when the team fails its his fault. Saying that you are sticking with the blue print because you believe it will work in the future is not "pat himself on the back".

Some parts were funny, but Doug being so stupid just got annoying afterwards.

The commercials didn't show anything funny so I would have been worried there wasn't anything funny in the rest of the movie as well. I found Doug annoyingly stupid just by watching the commercials...so ya I can see how him being that way during the whole movie would be completely irritating.

That never happened. You can try and search for that quote from Burke...but you won't find it.

Now he said that they would be trying to get the coveted top pick that year (trade up in the draft). Like he says every season. Kinda like almost every GM would try. He never guaranteed he would be getting anything or anyone.

I think it's a stretch to say he purposly strung him along... but if deals were pretty even.... I would have to think that past histories would come into play. But I do not mean to suggest that Gillis would activily taunt Burke and then trade to a rival.

And yes, there are guys who probably won't deal with each other very often but I think it's silly to suggest that Burke is shunned because he was admonished by the League or might have flown to Sweden to talk to the twins

No they are not playoff calibre....... don't get confused with what transpired the first part of the season.

The first part of the season, teams do not play a tight checking game. After the All Star break is when the real hockey begins. The tight checking etc etc. The Leafs of this year cannot handle the tight checking.

And most importantly........ you need a goaie to be a playoff contender

Brian Burke wants Tavares... thats all I had to type in on google and 54,900 results came back.
