Stanley Cup or playoffs? cause this team isn't nearly good enough for a cup, maybe a fluky upset. but there has been coaches hired during Wilson tenure that would take this team farther

Carlyle will get hired for sure, he's Burke's guy from the Ducks. But I have no (frank)ing clue how he'll do.

If anyone has been watching TSN, Marc Crawford has been oddly positive about the Leafs players and team. Don't be surprised if he gets some consideration for the position, he did coach the Canucks when they were under Burke.

Also, I want Galchenyuk.

Ya, too bad about Leafs not getting Hodgson for Schenn cause if the deal had gone down the chain of events would have probably been like this:


1st- If the Leafs got Cody they don't need Grabbo & his $5 mill cap hit next year so than they can trade Grabovski for a 1st pick even if it's a pick between 20th & 30th. A first pick is still a first pick & the way Grabbo played in FEB, even if the pick was 29th or 30th, Burke would have made a steal.

2nd-If Schenn got dealt, Leafs will trade both Schenn & Aukie , so the Aulie trade doesn't happen. Leafs have 2 future power forwards in Ross & Biggs. Don't really need a 3rd in Ashton.


I would rather the Leafs have Hodgson, Aulie & the 1st pick from the Grabbo deal than having Schenn & Grabbo. Too bad for the Leafs things didn't wiork out this way.

Only coach to not only survive 3 failed seasons, but get rewarded for it..... there is no way of saving himself now.

I'm all for Eakins as the next coach. I'm fine with that, but do not ruin the MArliies season by taking him away from them at this point. Let him finish out the year, and try for a Calder cup. MAkes no sense to bring him up now.

Agreed.

Schenn, Kulemin, Grabovski, Gunnarsson, Reimer, Frattin, and Bozak have only played for Ron Wilson at an NHL level.

A new coach would mean new expectations, responsibilities, and goals for these players as well.

I agree with this. I want to see Eakins start next season. I wanna see some Marlies playoff games this year as well.
