Yup, look at the old hits. The announcers say they are seeing stars and wobbly legs, like Ron Francis when he got destroyed. - AdamFrench
players would have "down years" or extended slumps. More often than not I would wager that was due to undiagnosed concussions.

Got decent reviews online...not sure the wife will like it but oh well. - Leafy_84
My GF and my buddies Fiance both loved it. Just go with expectations - no Oscar performances there. But it was entertaining. I liked it.

Who gets a seperated shoulder nowadays ??
Back then virtually every player got one, and many would 2-3 even four of them
Just compare the way players charged into each other then, and the way they do now....... its as plain as day to see the difference - faceto27
it's still pretty common. Toews in the playoffs 2 years ago. B Schenn in WJC, Komisarek was wasn't it?

that is not common in comparison to the say the 70's
Back then, at least 50% of the players at some point in time suffered a seperated shoulder
Many careers were cut short due to having so many that it got to the point where the trainers would pop the shoulder back into place at the bench
Yes, we still have some........ i would say there has been about a 80% reduction in them
Nowadays, I player will throw his shoulder into someone while the player is going across the ice, back then they wouldn't dare, cause the sheer force of the cross action would lead to a seperated shoulder
Trust me on this one........ i'm an old timer who saw the first automobile roll out |

of course there's been a reduction, but then ALL injuries are down a ton. Only reason concussions are on the rise is because they are actually diagnosed now, instead of saying "how many fingers", giving him some salts and sending him back out.
I think if we actually looked at data we'd find separated shoulders are just as common as any other serious injury in today's game - ie concussion, MCL, Broken bones, etc. Concussions just get identified, whereas shoulders are just called "upper body injury"
Guy's on LTIR for 3 weeks with a UBI, odds are it's a separated shoulder or broken collar bone |

I never understood the hype about Schenn from day 1, it's too bad Burke didn't unload him before the rest of the league came to their senses. |

Wouldn't say that. Sounded like we were offered JVR, nothing to scoff at. Just like Schenn tho, there are weaknesses to his game that he has to overcome but has a high upside. |
