reducing the pads now would be problematic. You'd also have to change the sticks people use. Average NHLers can shoot a puck 90+ mph now, old school pads are no longer efficient in protecting people. I can't see the NHL happily making the change considering it is a lot bigger an issue than people seem to accept, even just from a money perspetive.

well i am not diabetic.. not 45 plus (not anymore anyways), and i am no longer a smoker

leafs fan? wouldnt that be more harmful to the heart?
