first 1-0 win since niitty in 2007 i think. |

Guftsy and Lilija were both very strong defensively tonight, really ate some important minutes to keep the top 4 fresh. Kind of funny how the beginning of the year, the team had no organizational depth, so much has changed. - ravishingone
They played well. About 15 minutes each. That is a fair amount, but it still had Carle, Grossman, and Coburn each over 22. That can be taxing if it becomes routine. |

thought the team in general was ood at blocking shots and clearing second chances and of course bryz shut the door when break downs occured. add a little more offensive possession and faceoff wins to this game and cant really ask for more. shut out and no minor penalties

Definitely Bryzgalov's best performance of the season and I know he had 2 shutouts already! |

we have. several. sharks game last week for starters. feels nice to have 1 goal stand up. 5 years is an insane amount of time for that category. |

Come playoffs if the 5th and 6th defensmen can eat 15 minutes each, that would be huge. During the cup run, our 3rd pairing was so bad combined I believe they were just getting around 10 minutes.

Lava gets more use of a 30 second timeout than any coach I can think of. |

looks to me like grossman is a keeper, guy is a big, physical, and mean Dman. Just what the doc ordered for the Flyers. Kubina has been a nice pick up as well. Bryz keeps playing well, this can be a dangerous team come playoff time - bigmookalookie
Both new guys have been good. It hurts that Timonen, and Meszy are down now. Hopefully back soon. |

Lilja has taken a lot of criticism on here, for reasons that are unknown. He again did what he was signed for. To step in and not be a liability and hold down the fort. He did it tonight, just as he has done all Season.

adding kubina and grossman were excellent acquisitions that should make a difference in spreading out the minutes and having solid experience back there, assuming they're healthy as a group. i got nervous when i saw kubina go down. just a little nick fortunately.

would be nice for him to not have to use it other than giving guys a rest in an icing situation. |

Yup. Krajicek and Parent were scary. Every time they were on the ice it was a chinese fire drill. Lilja and Gustafsson are certainly an upgrade to those guys.
As the # 7, and # 8 depth guys, you can't do much better than them. |

He was very solid.
No soft goals was key and he made some tough saves.
Gave credit to his team playing well around him when asked about getting back "on track".
There was one save in particular, he was screened and the shot bounced off of him. Hung in the air and fell slowly. As soon as it hit the ice he was on it like a tiger.
Keep it going. |

He's a seasoned vet, who knows his limitations. For his cap hit, he is no doubt an asset, pretty impressive to come in tonight and be so effective. I thought I heard during the broadcast has only dressed once in the last 12 games.

It does. It's good to see them win low scoring games. In the playoffs you can't expect to score 4-5 goals a game. Sometimes 1 goal has to hold up. Winning a game like that inspires confidence that there is an ability to do it. |

About 3 weeks ago, that weird bounce that led to the Knuble breakaway would have went in, Bryz is really confident right now in his positioning, really great to see.
