if it is $7mm, it could be more.
But then the question becomes is he worth that much more then Carle with his play on the ice to offset the cost off the ice?
The more you pay for 1 player the less you have left for the rest, meaning less for the depth players. - ggunky
That's my issue with the blind allegiance to Suter. I agree that Suter is a better defenseman than Carle. But it's not like comparing Shea Weber to Steve Staios. With the Flyers likely cap situation, they might not be able to afford a huge raise to add Suter and allow Carle to walk. |

I wonder how many times Suter misses the net from point blank in the slot. |

Where it comes down to you wanting your d-core run by primarily a bunch of guys best suited to secondary roles. |

good pinch off by grossman behind the net to let them move the puck out of the zone, thats what i want to see from kubina, quick shot |

Good to see Hartnell stand up for a teammate. He's been on par with Giroux this year. |

Oh, and which Shea Weber clone will Suter be playing on a pair with as a Flyer? |

Suter is a guy who can carry a tandem hell of a lot better than say Carle, Coburn or Meszaros.
Hypothetically and for poops and giggles.
Timonen-Suter
Coburn-Meszaros
Grossman-Kubina
If Jagr and Voracek cannot be on the team next season to make it happen so be it. Sign cheap, gritty, defensive players to fill out the rest. |

can the announcers act any more like every hit along the caps bench is the hit of the decade launching players into the second level? |

That's fine, if Suter doesn't expect to be paid like he's Shea Weber. But if he's getting $7mm or even more, then I'd prefer Carle at $5mm or so. |

I think the issue is they need to think about replacing Kimmo. He has one year left and has been a rock on this D the last 5 years.
Suter is a very similar player to Kimmo. Could the Flyers carry all 3 of Suter, Kimmo and Carle for 1 season or do they have no cap space available?

So far, so good. Even minus 3 important players. What happened to Timonen and Meszaros exactly? |

I can't see a way to carry all three, even with Pronger on LTIR and dropping Voracek and Jagr for cheaper players. |

If the Flyers could actually draft and develop a decent dman once in a while you wouldnt have to worry about always trading for or signing big time FA dmen. John Carlson and his low cap hit would look great on this team right now |

Giroux is gtting too fancy with in in dangerous areas.
Doing it at the other team's blue line is one thing but trying to simply deke out a guy near your own slot is playing with fire. |

To be fair, Carlson has struggled this season, like most of the Capitals. But he does have a huge amount of potential. |
