When someone can become a millionaire off a HOT cup of coffee because of a lawyer...
Lawyers arent here to find true justice.. they are here to do everything they can to bend the rules just so they win... - RooNosHockey
well the lawyer does work for a client who pays him top dollar, so he owes it to his client to do the best possible job and get maximum money in settlement. it's the way the world works in a way... i just don't like the lawyers running washington, d.c. they are IMO the true scum of the earth. |

That McDonalds coffee lawsuit was a lot less stupid than it sounds. It's worth reading about, actually. They kept the coffee stupidly hot, and the cups were ill designed for such temperatures. |

I think it might have been the season right after the lockout.
I seem to remember a 1-0 shootout "win" over Atlanta with Nitty in net. |

Since acquiring Hal Gill, the Preds are 5-1-1. In two games with the club, Andrei Kostitsyn has a goal and an assist, and Paul Gaustad had an assist, and won 15-of-22 faceoffs in his one game.
I'm starting to wish they would have gave a first for him. - Scottie Upshall
He could win a 100 out of a 100 faceoffs, and he wouldn't have been worth a first for the Flyers. |

Common sense doesn't protect against coffee hot enough to cause the burns it did. There are frivolous lawsuits, but this one isn't as clear cut as it seems. |

It sounds so stupid, but it is (as my avatar would say) a fascinating scenario. |

Part II of Mark Howe series now online at Flyers' official site
A Decade of Greatness: A Look Inside Howe's Flyers Career
http://flyers.nhl.com/club/news.htm?id=620500 - bmeltzer
Thanks Bill. Looking forward to the Howe reads! Any news on Giroux? Saw somewhere on here earlier that someone tweeted he wasn't at practice. Maintenance day or more to it?
EDIT: Here it is:
Dave Isaac @davegisaac
No Claude Giroux at practice. #Flyers.
- PLindbergh31
EDIT II: Tim Panaccio @tpanotchCSN
Giroux was maintenace day, he says
I wonder who is the "he" to whom Tim is referring? Holmgren? Giroux?

That was the first game that I can recall where I felt confident and comfortable with Bryz in net.
The past 35 games or so, I kept waiting for that one, inevitable soft goal that he almost always delivered. It wasn't a pessimistic outlook, but more of a reflection of his on-ice demeanor and attitude.
This would be a great time to get and stay on a roll. Hopefully some of the troops from the blue line heal quickly. - bradleyc4
This.
I had the game on PVR. Watched it without knowing the score ahead of time. Bryz and the Flyers played a great road game. Almost playoff like hockey.
Please keep Bryz away from any microphones or cameras though. His interview with Engblom at ice level right after the game might have appeared endearing to some, but it made him look like an ass clown to me. |
