I thought he played his @$$ off last night and was one of the only Sabres on the ice making a positive difference all game. |

He had a good game but he did make some bonehead plays like the rest of them.
They dealt with Leopold already so I'd say he's a no go in a trade.
Sekera on the other hand is a realatively cheap option for them. |

Point is they match it right away so you just waste your time with the sheet.
Fact of the matter is O'Reilly is a pipe dream. I think everyone including you knows that.
As is Kopitar and Getzlaf.
Stastny is a viable option. An expensive one but viable and realistic one.

His 1st 4 yrs
82gp 78pts
66gp 71pts
45gp 36pts
81gp 79pts
274gp 264pts
I stand by my previous statement that up untill last year he was at an almost ppg clip. - dadeadhead
I just remember him in his third year absolutely KILLING for me in a fantasy league and then he got hurt.
I think he's lost motivation in CO. A change of scenery would do him good. Big cap hit though. |

Wasn't he the one that stood there in front of the net as Ladd crashed the net and did nothing to take away the pass, or more importantly, Ladd himself?

I'm not either. I think this weather is killing me. My sinuses are so messed up. I can hardly breathe right now and my throat hurts from breathing through my mouth all night.
Not the way I wanted to start my day off. At all. - HonkFortheGoose
Thats my problem exactly.
I also have a history of buying tickets for a game when I'm sick, then gameday comes and I'm real sick and end up giving them away. |

yup. That would be him. I thought the exact same thing. I've seen him do that too many times. Instead of trying to tie the guy up, he tries to stick check them. It's super frustrating. |

This is exactly why the Grateful Dead tours got out of hand from 1985 until Jerry. I don't know what the scene is at Further shows, Rat Dog, etc.
Once you go mainstream (Touch of EFFING Grey !!!) you're PHUKKED !
- Pairo11
Haha! such a great reference but it was 87 when it got nuts with the 'touch heads'. I knew the Dead's music long before I could go see them so I fall into that category but out on the west coast I don't think it ever got as bad as it was on the east. |

I sold mine to a guy at work. $60 for the pair. Just wanted to get our money back for them. Neither me or the guy I go with could go. I had to switch shifts with the guy I sold the tickets to for the Colorado game next week, and take a vacation day for the Montreal game the week after that. |

Totally agree. Myers didn't have his best game, but I'm not holding anyone to the fire for that game. |

Yeah 'Touch' went mainstream in '87 and that blew the doors off the thing. My first show was in '84 and the scene was still pretty much flying under the radar. About '86 you could see a big difference, a lot of rich kids with no tickets coming to see the midway, buy trinkets and score lame drugs.
It got disgusting after that.. |

Myers actually finished a +1 last night, so he must not have been on the ice when Winnipeg scored yesterday. I would have to say he didn't have that bad of game looking at that. But I didn't get to see the whole thing because I was at work. |

It was.
He was also the guy making good plays in the D zone from the 2nd period through the rest of the game, and skating the entire time, taking the puck up the ice, being about the only guy dangerous with the puck offensively for most of the game.
If you are going to take a play or two per night and have that be the end all be all for a player, get a list ready for most D men in the league.
Weber would have been released more than a month ago. Tyler would have been sitting a couple of games. Etc.
Sekera is making less than $3M for the next 3 seasons and he is getting better and better. |

Watch the replay Goose, and specifically Andrej, for the entire 2nd and 3rd period.
Guy was all over the place, making an impact. |

I mostly don't understand why Colorado would want to take a more expensive step sideways. Stafford and Sekera + would be the most beneficial to them because they'd get two roster players.
Same with the Sabres, moving Vanek for Statsny, while making us stronger down the middle would lose us our best LW. Of course Vanek has looked terrible the last couple games, but you can't argue that he is a bad player. Stafford too, terrible year, but I don't think he plays out his career at his current production level.
I think we need additions or upgrades. Roy + 1st, 3rd/4th could bring back Statsny, upgrading us at center, and while this gives Colorado a slightly less talented C, the picks should make up for that.
That said, I think we'd be better off trading for a player better than Statsny, or at least bigger. We already got our 6' guy in Hodge. Now we need that 6'3 guy. |

I'm not huge into the Dead, but I respect them. But every good music scene has its time when its right. Crowds are good, everyone is on the same page and its fun. Then it blows up and gets ruined by followers and leaches. |

i thought Myers played a pretty decent game last night. I didn't think Ehrhoff was on the ice that much. Myers just kept outlet passing it and getting picked off in the neutral zone. i think Myers had about 6 hits last night if I remember right. |

The kid has GOT to work on his arm strength, but I'm sure the training staff already knows that. He was physical right off the bat, but I think it wore him down, as he (along with everyone else) got really sloppy as the game went on.
Anyone else notice how small the Sabres looked yesterday? The Jets have some BIG players, but we looked out muscled and out sized in all positions. |

He had a few fumbly moments that costs us extended play in our own zone. But again, 4th in 6 on the road In a tough building, not holding anyone to the fire over it. |

I never realized that the Jets collected every black player in the NHL either. They have like 4 black guys!

Weber looked good, too. His game has become exactly like Regher's, working hard in the corners and punishing offenders! He's turned into a real bumhole, too, which I'm thrilled about. Facewashes for everyone!!! |

It's been widely speculated that it was to help market the team in Atlanta. I don't know if that's a fact, but I've heard it before, and it does make sense. Unfortunately, nobody in Georgia gives a poop about hockey, regardless of who's on the team. |
