Vanek's best 2 seasons were with Roy EXCLUSIVELY as his center
Granted, they were on the 3rd line at the time

BUT...

Vanek's slump has a hell of a lot more to do with VANEK than it does with who he's playing with at any certain time
I think ppl don't seem to realize that
Not that I particularly like Roy or anything...
But vanek's problems are his own fault

And thinking that getting him a #1 center will magically make vanek understand that he needs to put forth more effort CONSISTANTLY and play with more physicality on the boards & around the net...

Vanek had his best season running and gunning and being Thomas Vanek then Lindy decided he need to be Thomas Holmstrom. There can be only one Thomas Holmstrom.

But you are and so is everyone else on here.

Vanek's lack of wanting to play the game is the reason that line is suffering. Roy and Pommer will pressure the puck and then have to get back because Vanek is standing around.

You can put any other winger with Roy and Pommer and they would get scoring again. That was proven when Leino was playing with them when Vanek went down.

If you re-read what you just quoted I said Vanek is becoming a bigger problem for me. I also said Derek Roy does not get a free pass, did not say he was the main reason.

I think they were just out of gas tonight. Sucks cause Winnepeg is a West/east team. What can ya do.

We do not get a break either. Back to back home games Wed/Thurs.

They were completely gassed in that third period.

That was Buffalo's 4th game in 6 nights.

That was Winnipegs 2nd game since LAST MONDAY, and it was the end of an EIGHT GAME homestand.
