He's failed on his last 2, Haynesworth and Johnson.
Just saying. - dadeadhead
True but he still took the team to the Superbowl this year. If Lindy was churning out championship appearances I don't think we'd be complaining about Vanek's slump as much.
Why does it seem like the Sabres have more enigmatic talent that goes through prolonged slumps because we think they are "head cases" than most teams in the league?
Roy, Vanek, Stafford, Leino, and Miller at times
The responsibility of a coach is to put his players in the best position to succeed on the ice. How many times has Bill Belichick taken over the hill cast-offs from other NFL teams that appeared done and found a niche for them to succeed on his team.
I've always supported Lindy, but I'm starting to think he doesn't have the best pulse of the players on his team, put them in the best position to succeed, or instill the confidence in them that is necessary to be successful. - SabreHess
Lindy should be gone and should have been gone a long time ago.. but darcy is his buddy and Terry thinks he is hot crap on a silver platter. So just accept him as our coach for the foreseeable future and deal with it

Men vs boys.....
Easily could have been 7-1 Jets....
Brought you guys back down to earth in a hurry...

Your Jets had 4 days off while on an 8 game home stand in your AHL arena there.
The Sabres were on fumes on a 4 games in 6 nights west coast trip which is harder than the west coast coming back east.
The Sabres could not match the fresh legs of the jets or their energy due to the schedule maker gift wrapping this one for your jets in all honesty.
1-1 after 20 minutes with all the bonus's laid at the jets feet in this game and that was all they could muster was a 3-1 win against a team on fumes and yet you want to brag about it.
The Sabres beat the best 3 teams on this west coast trip and exhausted themselves in doing so running out of gas in their 4th game in 6 nights.
Sabres still have 16 games to make up a lousy 4 points.

i enjoy the "this guy played junior hockey for _________" program that they put out - SabresFaninIndiana
I know, nobody gives a sh*t when you do it for every player. If you want to say it about a young guy nobody knows about fine, but I don't need to know where established NHL players played their junior hockey every time they are on a national broadcast.
It's almost as if he made a Rolodex of his own "Macguire-isms" that he keeps on a wrist band like a quarterback. Then throughout the game he just inserts player names of the teams involved and bam! it's classic Pierre Macguire hockey.
On his other wrist is a another cheat sheet with every player on the ice, who their parents are, where they grew up, what junior teams they played with, and how many degrees they are separated from Kevin Bacon.
