I watched Regehr be a beast of ginger twins for years- guy has not been the same since 09 when he had a knee injury-

Miller has been lights out for awhile he missed a breakaway and got caught on bad rebound.

The game was as entertaining as any I have ever seen. No ill will meant to anyone

That was easily the best and most complete game of the year for this Jets squad. They played responsibly in their own end and took what the Sabres gave them in terms of offensive chances.

Miller was quite good tonight and made some quality saves, particularly the one on Kane early in the game when he was sent in alone against Miller.

Regehr made a pretty poor play on Thorburn's goal, although I am not sure he expected him to actually try to make the corner on him........still, Regehr has to make that play.

As for the MTS Center ? What can I say ? That was the most raucous and mind-numbingly loud I have heard them this season. The "Silver Medal" chant (although somewhat mean) was particularly witty and I am sure made Miller just a little bit sour.

All in all the best game I have watched this team play all year. I don't know if it's just the homestand or not, but it just seems like the team is starting to "get it". The team play has really been pretty fantastic throughout the homestand save for the Oiler game and the Flyer game, and for the first time I feel this team has a sense of identity.

Grant Clitsome was a complete surprise to me. I was wondering before the game what this kid was going to be like and I came away with nothing but praise for his play. He was physical, offensive when needed, and most of all responsible in his own end.

Lets see if they can take any of this with them on this tough road trip. I would rather play the Flames first.....but it is what it is.

It's pretty classy for the fans there to essentially be making fun of a guy for an achievement they themselves will never actually be able to even remotely dream about. But, carry on Winnipeg.

And you're right, they didn't show up. But they did just finish with 6 pts on a west coast road trip that involved 4 games in 6 nights. Not too bad overall.

every team travels, winnipeg travels that much more, every team has 4 games in 6 days even on the road, so no need for that to come up

im not in garths threads that much, i only go in when its brought to my attention, or if im looking for someone

injuries is a lame excuse, and that wasnt the reason the devils missed it last year, check the coaching out for that, and the devils have been doing pretty darn well for missing their best center all season let alone other injuries

its a whole bunch of sabres fans, its probably a 50/50 split (and this number is actually coming from a sabres fan who cant stand going into garths blogs anymore) so its just easier to say it, tampa doesnt play the defensive game they play offense and they win games that way, caps CAN be explosive offensively and have a good goaltender

when its a big game like this where it had the chances of greatly helping a team make the playoffs or slow them down should be a game where players should be built up for and have adrenaline and all, they shouldnt be tired to the point where they were pretty disinterested, every team has a tough march schedule, so its all how you prepare

What you saw as disinterested play I saw as just not having the energy to keep up with a more well rested team. They were a step behind all night, but it wasn't for a lack of effort (I will admit I didn't get to watch the entire game, but it was tied going into the 3rd). This happens to every team throughout the year. It stinks for the Sabres, but they've been able to take advantage of these situations in the past before as well.

When a team has missed as many man games to injury as the Sabres, it does have to factor in. It just does. I can tell you that Pittsburgh would be at the top of the East if Crosby was healthy. They also would be more in a place like the Sabres if they didn't have Malkin.

A month and a half ago, they were last in the conference. They are now battling for a playoff position. Let's not take away what they've been able to accomplish because they had 1 game that they didn't have any jump during. It happens. It's an 82 game season.
