Peter is "Pumping the Tires" of another Canadian team because the Sabres smoked his team Saturday night. - Buffalo--Sabres

Geesh... Sabre fans are such wimps. Grow a pair already. I loved the silver medal chant. Let's face the facts, people. You don't "win" a silver medal; you lose a gold medal game. Fact is that Miller caughed up a weak golden goal. Miller blew a 3-1 lead in the third period of game 7 against Carolina. Whenever the chips are really on the line, Miller gags it up.
I only wish the miserable SOBs in the 300-level of the First Niagara Center could cheer with a quarter of the heart as the people in Peg. |

no need to defend your blog, they are just upset their team didnt show up and all, doubt they make the playoffs
now we will have a year of roy for getzlaf rumors - dmarsden2988
Um , the Sabres were finishing a greuling west coast swing 4 games in 6 nights beating the best 3 teams on that trip in the process.
The Jets ? They had 4 days off prior to this game and at the end of a 8 game home stand.
What I just layed out was a recipe for the game that took place.
Sabres looked tired and could not match the energy the Jets had from having 4 days off.
I mean whoever wants to think the Sabres wont get into the playoffs now or that the Jets are the team to beat because of the game last night need to take the things I laid out prior and into consideration.
On that west coast trip they beat the hottest team in the league Anaheim, San Jose and the best team in the league Vancouver. The Sabres were looked dead tired and there was no way they were going to be able to match the energy of any team with 4 days off and while they had played 4 games in 6 nights on the west coast no less.
By the way, that shot with the silver medal , totaly classless. |

when its a big game like this where it had the chances of greatly helping a team make the playoffs or slow them down should be a game where players should be built up for and have adrenaline and all, they shouldnt be tired to the point where they were pretty disinterested, every team has a tough march schedule, so its all how you prepare - dmarsden2988
First of all I see you in Garths blogs more than Sabres fans.
Secondly I wont really touch on the teams that you think will get in before the Sabres or the reasons you gave because your reasons tell me you dont watch much hockey. The Caps are explosive and have a very good goaltender?
Have you ever played a sport in your life?
Sabres being on a west coast trip 4 games in 6 nights takes it toll , we all are only human. You do realize "adrenaline" only will last so long in a 60 minute affair after a trip like this especially against a FRESH TEAM with 4 days off in front of their home crowd for 8 straight games in an AHL arena.
The Sabres were set up for failure in this one by the schedule maker.
The game was gift wrapped for Winnipeg .
All things aside, the Sabres took 6 out of 8 points on the west coast trip beating the best 3 out of the 4 teams on it running out of gas on their last one. They only lost 3-1 to Winnipeg and were tied 1-1 after 20 minutes even with all the bonus's Winnipeg had laid at their feet.
Its only 1 loss , this does nothing to hurt the Sabres playoff chances. The Sabres still have 16 games to go to make up a lousy 4 points.

Agreed, our arena is the worst. Fans with no passion fill the seats |

Pretty classless chant - kypredsfan
Now that really depends on which Podium you were standing on in Vancouver doesn't it.
At least our fans don't need the arena announcer telling us when we are going on a Power Play |

I'm guessing you are a simple American that doesn't know that Winnipeg is in Canada...and that Canada (not Vancouver) won the GOLD medal...but hey...that's ok...we'll let it slide.
The chant was done "tongue in cheek"...mocking Miller who everyone knows is a top 5 Goalie and was brilliant in the Olympics...just like the Getzlaf/Ryan commercial...but I guess you just didn't get it. |

+1
Watching/listening to the fans gives me goose bumps. Love the passion in the peg. Only wish our building would sound like that.
One thing that bothers me for some reason, regardless of the team or building is the goalie chants before anyone even scores a goal. It seems to happen in alot of buildings, Buffalo included occasionally, and it makes me laugh every time. Seems pretty stupid to me.
On a seperate note, I got to go check out the Ice Caps play in Syracuse on saturday. There's a couple good looking kids down there. Granted they lost 6-4 after getting out to multiple leads. Aebischer looked really shakey, He let in multiple in close up top goals. All in all it was cool to see the team for the first time. Love the jerseys.

That was easily the best and most complete game of the year for this Jets squad. They played responsibly in their own end and took what the Sabres gave them in terms of offensive chances.
Miller was quite good tonight and made some quality saves, particularly the one on Kane early in the game when he was sent in alone against Miller.
Regehr made a pretty poor play on Thorburn's goal, although I am not sure he expected him to actually try to make the corner on him........still, Regehr has to make that play.
As for the MTS Center ? What can I say ? That was the most raucous and mind-numbingly loud I have heard them this season. The "Silver Medal" chant (although somewhat mean) was particularly witty and I am sure made Miller just a little bit sour.
All in all the best game I have watched this team play all year. I don't know if it's just the homestand or not, but it just seems like the team is starting to "get it". The team play has really been pretty fantastic throughout the homestand save for the Oiler game and the Flyer game, and for the first time I feel this team has a sense of identity.
Grant Clitsome was a complete surprise to me. I was wondering before the game what this kid was going to be like and I came away with nothing but praise for his play. He was physical, offensive when needed, and most of all responsible in his own end.
Lets see if they can take any of this with them on this tough road trip. I would rather play the Flames first.....but it is what it is. - RickDixon
They actually played quite well during the flyer game up until the end. If they played like they did lastnight I dont think the flyers would have tied that game though. I was watching the game in a philly bar and I told everyone knowing how the jets sometimes play "hang on hockey" if we sent the game into OT it was over, and I really really thought we could. Pav is an amazing goalie, but he can only do so much, especially vs a team as deep as the flyers. Hopefully lastnight showed us we have seen the last of "hang on" hockey

Ah, there you are, the guy that blames Miller for everything.
Solid move.
Please feel free to name the D in the Carolina Game 7.
Take your time, I'll wait.
Also, the score was 2-1, but why let facts get in the way.
Would the USA have even made the gold medal game if not for Miller?
Correct, the answer is no.
The Canada game would have been over much earlier as well if not for him.
One last thing, yes the Winnipeg arena fans are great, and yes the Buffalo building is often not, but take away a city's team for a decade plus, and see how loud an arena becomes when they come back. |

I commented on the events of the game. Factual they are.
Look the Silver Medal thing is fans, I don't promote nor condone it.
I watched Regehr be a beast of ginger twins for years- guy has not been the same since 09 when he had a knee injury-
Miller has been lights out for awhile he missed a breakaway and got caught on bad rebound.
The game was as entertaining as any I have ever seen. No ill will meant to anyone - Peter.Tessier
But what you really need to point out is that the Sabres were on the last game of a long road trip where they played 3 games in 4 nights and the Jets were at home for the past 8 games and had not played for 3 nights. lets see what the ets do now that they have to hit the road. |

Miller could care less.
I like how a silver medal is worthless now.
I've won a couple of silver medals in the Empire State Games.
They are not gold, and I wish at least one of them was, but I still take pride in being good enough to win a silver. |

sabres have to make up 5pts not 4, you cant go tied for 8th because you lose the tiebreakers which means you would be 9th if tied in points, but im sure you would know that being such a hockey fan
also vokoun is a very good goalie, and i said the caps CAN be very explosive, if ovechkin finds his scoring touch then they can win
oh and you said before tampa has no goaltending, how do you explain garon's 12-3-1 record in the last 16 games he has played?
every team has to play 4 games in 6 nights and many teams have to do that on the road, so its no excuse, the guys who made the schedule didnt screw the sabres over or anything
maybe you should pay more attention to hockey because you seem pretty damn stupid when you put every other team trying to make the playoffs down while saying the sabres will make it when the sabres have a bunch of road games, you say other teams goalies arent as good when you dont look at the style of play they play, buffalo losses all the tiebreakers and they have to climb over other teams just to make the playoffs
