sabres have to make up 5pts not 4, you cant go tied for 8th because you lose the tiebreakers which means you would be 9th if tied in points, but im sure you would know that being such a hockey fan
also vokoun is a very good goalie, and i said the caps CAN be very explosive, if ovechkin finds his scoring touch then they can win
oh and you said before tampa has no goaltending, how do you explain garon's 12-3-1 record in the last 16 games he has played?
every team has to play 4 games in 6 nights and many teams have to do that on the road, so its no excuse, the guys who made the schedule didnt screw the sabres over or anything
maybe you should pay more attention to hockey because you seem pretty damn stupid when you put every other team trying to make the playoffs down while saying the sabres will make it when the sabres have a bunch of road games, you say other teams goalies arent as good when you dont look at the style of play they play, buffalo losses all the tiebreakers and they have to climb over other teams just to make the playoffs - dmarsden2988

Um , the Sabres were finishing a greuling west coast swing 4 games in 6 nights beating the best 3 teams on that trip in the process.
The Jets ? They had 4 days off prior to this game and at the end of a 8 game home stand.
What I just layed out was a recipe for the game that took place.
Sabres looked tired and could not match the energy the Jets had from having 4 days off.
I mean whoever wants to think the Sabres wont get into the playoffs now or that the Jets are the team to beat because of the game last night need to take the things I laid out prior and into consideration.
On that west coast trip they beat the hottest team in the league Anaheim, San Jose and the best team in the league Vancouver. The Sabres were looked dead tired and there was no way they were going to be able to match the energy of any team with 4 days off and while they had played 4 games in 6 nights on the west coast no less.

last time i checked these are professional athletes, and every team goes through a schedule like that, your not going to hear excuses from them, they know how much the game meant, when your facing a team in your conference that your chasing for the last playoff spot you get yourself up for that, its a 4 point game, the tiredness excuse is a lame one in the NHL these days when every team goes through the same thing, and you dont see the wings lose games because they are tired when they do a bunch of traveling, just like injuries its a cop out excuse
also players have more difficulty having longer periods off, they complain more about having to wait around for days between games
if it makes you feel better keep using the excuse
p.s the rangers are the best team if your going to look at standings

but i thought tampas goaltending was terrible, garon's record the past 16 games shows it

im not the one who was saying all the other teams are going to lose out on the playoffs and only the sabres were going to make it, i made a case why they have a better chance of making it than the sabres and i provided reasons behind it that make sense
buffalo still loses the tiebreakers so they would need to get 5pts not 4 to make the playoffs right now, and tampa has a better chance of making the playoffs and you will still keep saying their goaltending sucks without realizing how they are winning their games
One last thing, yes the Winnipeg arena fans are great, and yes the Buffalo building is often not, but take away a city's team for a decade plus, and see how loud an arena becomes when they come back. - kingcong39

maybe you guys shouldnt have been calling yourselves cup contenders and being all cocky and a whole bunch of other stuff. theres a reason why some buff fans i talk to cant stand a bunch of buffalo fans on here, to the point where one of them rather posts elsewhere than on this site as he is embarrassed by what goes on in here by his own teams fans

i was fine with the chant as i'm fine with the silver medal, that gold medal game was probably the best hockey game i've ever watched. good to see the peg take it to us, when will sabre fans realize we are not a playoff team????
im not worried, if we keep playing like we did the last two weeks and forget about last nights game we should be fine. we are still in the hunt, but sure know how to make it harder on ourselves. go sabres.
