Philadelphia Flyers @NHLFlyers
#Flyers have agreed to a two-year contract beginning in 2012-13 with Ohio State goaltender Cal Heeter, according to GM Paul Holmgren.

Beanpole. He's like 6'4" and 175. Good numbers last two years |

I have seen a few Ohio St games this year, and was impressed with his lateral movement for a big guy.
Goaltenders under 6 feet tall are extinct. |

I'd rather glue my eyelids shut than do the training I'm doing now. Social engineering is about as exciting as waiting for paint to dry |

Except Bryz...Pekka....haha
But is this guy gonna play? Juniors? Adirondack? Leighton's backup? What do we have in store for this kid?? |

He'll probably split time with Hovinen at Adirondack. Leighton's contract ends July 1st |

TBD right now. Trenton or Adirondack I would assume. Depending on what Hoivenen does. |

Bryz is 6'3", Pekka 6'5". Even if that's in skates, both are well over 6" |

I'd think give him a shot at Adirondack's backup position. With our big fin Hoiv coming in Leighton's gone, eh? |

Sorry- misread that. I thought you said "Goalies UNDER 6 foot are extinct."
Carry on.
EDIT: Both are well over 6" too. Good point. Heck... they're even over 6'!

Leighton's probably gone regardless...he was none to happy to be stuck in the AHL the last two years |

Is there a prospect report for him? Or not, cause he isn't drafted? |

Yup. Leighton will be a UFA on July 1. He's played fairly well in Adirondack. It will be interesting to see if he gets an NHL job next year. I have to think he will get a chance somewhere. |

I'm sure there's somebody with information, probably McKeen's or Hockey's Future |

Seems to be his fault with the MIA for the post game in the POs last year and not disclosing an injury before he signed his last contract. I won't miss him. Guy is as slow as they come at recovering from going down. |

Saw an interview with Chara this weekend (on NBC?) and was so impressed. He talked about how much he just loves to play and how much he loves to compete. At anything. He's the one Bruin I can't hate...much. - bodiva88
I like Bergeron.
He just plays the game so well in all zones. Kind of under rated too. |

There were some issues, to be sure. Although I do feel that he probably was expecting to be on the NHL roster after signing his deal. He's played well in ADK, I'd be surprised if he doesn't get a shot elsewhere. |

Hockey's future:
Cal Heeter, G, Senior, the Ohio State University - A steady, athletic netminder with size (6'4, 195 lbs) that has been a key to the Buckeyes' success this season. The Chicago Blackhawks are among the NHL teams showing interest in Heeter.
Not much, I'll keep searching. |

In a backup role? I would be surprised honestly. As a #3 yes, or if significant injuries hit the right club. Turco just now found a home and a team had to take a flyer on Emery. |

Yep. I think he could probably be in the NHL right now, for several teams and be an upgrade on their current backup |

There are a bunch of bad backups in the NHL right now. If it wasn't for the contract situations Leighton might have been able to outperform Bobrovsky in the backup role this year. |

Him and Kreci.
Flyers turned that series around when Richards' hit knocked Kreci out of the final games. |
