Whoa, Bryz was that all about? - MBFlyerfan
Let's give him the benefit of the doubt. No need to jump all over Bryz after he's been playing great... |

It's a hard one. I think that Kronwall certainly could have let up. And I do agree that he baited Voracek. But Jake's got to know where he is and who is out there with him. Guy has a rep as a hitter with a pretty casual regard for opposing players' health and safety. - Jsaquella
Yeah.. No different than Scott Stevens being out there.
For good news, I like this:
wayne fish @waynefish1
This just in Flyers fans: Darren Dreger reporting Sean Avery, currently parked in Conn., told to go home. Alas, his Ranger days appear over. |

I have an anecdote here- I think you all should read it:
This past weekend, my brother was playing in a midget hockey game, and the other team had this big 17 year old goon. He must have been 6-2 200. First he laid one kid out in the first period- and it was let go. It was clean, but it there was a stigma with it because the kid he hit was about 8 inches shorter than he was.
In the first half of the 2nd, he laid another booming hit. This time, he got called for boarding, which it was. Again, he hit someone roughly 6 inches shorter than him. Hard.
He gets out of the box, and on that shift he drills another kid in the open ice. Elbow to the head- lucky the kid didn't get seriously hurt. Again, he was about a foot taller than the kid he hit. Truly a headhunting disgrace.
During the next sequence, (I was doing the score sheet) I heard the ref say to our bench, "If that clown throws another hit like that, I'm gonna kick his ass out. He's here to knock people off the puck and play defense, not kill kids."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
That's why this hit is dirty. That's why Kronwall is dirty. He tries to kill people once a week. I hope, and think, this is finally the time he gets punished.
He's not here to kill people.
He's here to play hockey.
I rest my case. |
Just sat down and watched the reply of the Kronwall hit. I hate dirty hockey, but honestly, I have to say I saw nothing wrong with it. Nothing at all. |
Bryz not happy with the unforced turnover.
- FlyerGuy
Could be unhappy with something else going on on the ice. Lord knows a lot of us fans are and he has a better view. No different than Lava flipping out, to me. |
Everyone here screaming about how Kronwall should have let up or avoided the hit. Had that been Carle or another Flyers defenseman and he let up or avoided the hit you would be screaming bloody murder about how "soft" he is. - MBFlyerfan
no problem with him stepping up for the hit, but he drilled him square in the face with his shoulder and lined him up to do while jake was fishing for the puck. he could have made the play without hitting him in the head. |
Not saying he should have "let up". He could have hit him hard without hitting him in the head. He had plenty of time to pick his spot. He chose to hit him in the head. That's my issue with the play.
Hard hits = OK
Deliberate head shots = BAD
Not sure why this is so hard to understand. It's pretty much what Shannahan has been preaching all season long |
I hope that wasn't at Simmonds, and at the refs instead because Simmonds may have gotten hooked and that was why he turned the puck over.
Eh.. Not that one. Hartnell obviously and blatantly mowed the goalie over. At least *he* let up. |
Groin or knee or both? - MrBuzzcut
Not sure. It's hard to depend on a 40 yr old staying healthy. One of the reasons why I don't think he will be re-signed. |
Jake's head was down. He didn't intend to hit him in the head. He intended to hit him in the chest. It was a clean shoulder check imo. |
Again, Bryz's view > ours. He probably saw the hook and its resulting turnover and was as pissed as a Flyers fan about it. |
That Voracek had his head down and it was a clean hit. - MBFlyerfan
agreed the only thing i dont like and he does it every big hit is he turns his back its rarely shoulder to chest for Kronwall he turns his back ... i just feel this cause more damage imo ...either way he put your head down and thats what happens |
His head was DOWN. It was a clean shoulder check imo. Plus Jake saw him coming and then looked back down at the puck a second time. |
Yes it was, but Voraceks head was at about elbow level of Kronwall. He didn't leap up in to Voracels head, Voracek's head was low. Any contact was going to be to his head.
