This blog should not have been written, your wasting your time, the hit was absolutely 100% north south.... Kronwall made a completely clean hit didnt put his arms up nothing, its not his fault Voracek was looking at his feet (a no no in hockey which fans always seem to forget about when they dont like that their player is hurt.) Get a grip, understand hockey or dont write about it. End of story. |

Im sure it was talked about but did anyone see Bryz slam his stick on the ice in the 3rd after a turnover in the Flyers zone and he made a great save? Did they ask him what that was about, I wasn't sure if he was just taunting the guy he stoned or if he was just pissed at the turnover. I mean I know I was pissed at the turnover, so I can't blame him, just curious. |

I think he was bumped right before the turnover and was pissed at no call being made. |

You're right Kronwall did put himself in that position, but he didn't skate backwards into Stewart now did he? And no I was not mad about it, you know why? Because he was fine, and that type of poop happens. Think what you want but Stewart was not malicious in that hit, just careless.
Voracek has come out and stated the hit was clean, and that he screwed himself over by putting himself in a vulnerable position, why are you still arguing otherwise? Wouldn't the player who received the hit have the best knowledge as to whether a hit was illegal or not? Good day, sir. |

Kronwall isnt that much bigger than Voracek. Voracek had his head DOWN. If his head was up it wouldnt have been a head shot. Get over it. |

keep writing.... immediately prior or simultaneous to. kronwall had plenty of time to make a decision (give him a concussion or play the puck) |

size is not a factor
head down is only a factor if it's immediately before the hit, he had his head down well before contact |

Kromwall is one of the dirtiest players in the league with that exact play. He tried it a couple of times earlier in the game and missed. Head contact aside, it's actually technically a 'clean' hit. The thing that makes it dirty though is every defenseman that plays hockey at an organized level can execute this hit regularly but they choose not to. The only skill involved in a hit like that is baiting the winger on the breakout into thinking he's backing up and then zooming in to connect just as the player gets the puck and has barely had a chance to turn forward. This isn't an example of "gee Voracek needs to keep his head up on that play" - Voracek has no chance on the play - just the way Kromwall has designed it. He does this hit time and time again. Ask yourself why is it that Kromwall is the only defenseman consistently making this play? Is he just that above and beyond the skill level of all of the other defensemen in the league to be able to execute it? Kromwall shows absolutely zero respect to the players of the game and to the game itself when he consistently makes these types of plays, see Havlat, Martin. Taking the instigator rule out would help deter these types of plays. |
