code for "hope you took your pills today" - bradleyc4
I'm walking away
I see the line,
it's staring back at me
But all the debt has been paid
So I'm released as a pawn in this game
And still I'm wondering why
You never see- this from the other side
Illusion burned in your mind
I'll drain it out after I burn the bridge
Retrace the lines that I've made
So you can see the point
The faces switch with the day
And now I'm starting to track
Consistent patterns where I'm dodging the blame |

OLN had the Tour de France and not much else until they got hockey. But I love that TdF coverage. - bodiva88
Meh... I can't get into watching dudes ride bikes for hours on end. Plus Armstrong was cheating. |

Ok, maybe. - Flyskippy
I have eased off on my dislike for him. He seems to have controlled himself fairly well this season. I like him better than Clownie anyways. I still think he's one bare wire tap away from going off though. |

Pfft. That was claimed by the French, who have never found testosterone in any of their men.

Bill that is why I asked you if they would trade Grossmann. I felt all along that the Stars would be a playoff team. They are playing very well and Lehtonen is lights out right now. - stveshdy
Agreed. Lehtonen doesn't have nearly the team defense in front of him that Lundqvist does, plus he went through a month-long groin pull absence and it took about 2-3 weeks to get back his game. So he has zero shot at any Vezina consideration this year, but he has been tremendous. The way Bryzgalov has played last three games is how Lehtonen has played in about 80% of his starts this season. |

I do miss all the hunting specials. Especially since I can't hunt these days its still great to check out the few they have on csn once in a while. OLN was really good for outdoor enthusiasts. Unfortunately not much of us |

STILL shorter than Pronger.
 - Flyskippy
Its almost not fair these guys can play on the ice at the same time... Briere only comes up to Pronger's Nipple.... |

I'm not all that surprised, because Stars have had their lineup healthy -- minus Brenden Morrow -- for last couple weeks. That has frequently been the case for the Stars: they are very competitive club in West when full (or nearly full) lineup is intact but when depth starts to get tested, they don't hold up. - bmeltzer
Looks like guys like Ryder and Ribiero are stepping up at the right time too.
Actually Ryder has been having a pretty solid season from the start.
Thank them for Grossmann, I really like seeing him in orange and black. |

I think players should be able to be released. If released, a team would still have to pay the player his salary, but their contract would no longer count against the cap or count as a contract slot.
Not many teams would be willing to just eat big contracts, but if a team makes a mistake signing a guy and are willing to release the player to clear cap space they should be allowed to do it imo. - PLindbergh31
That works seriously to the advantage of the rich teams. It would amount to there being no salary cap in effect. |

I remember watsonnostaw saying he wanted Lehtonen in the O&B. Maybe that guy isn't totally off his rocker.

There is a slight chance Jagr will play tonight. But if not, that's a lineup that you would think will struggle to put the puck in the net. - PLindbergh31
5 goals tonight... Giroux with 2, Hartnell with 1, Carle with 1, and Read with 1... |

Flyers have been shorthanded the most times (260) in the NHL this season, but also by far have most powerplay opportunities (274) in the league. Detroit is a very distant second in that category with 253 power play chances. - bmeltzer
So the real problem is the ineffectiveness of special teams. |

ok so you give me a 12 year deal for 5 mil a year with a NMC why should i care i'm getting my money - 2Real
Some players feel that way... Others want to win... Thats why you care... Besides look at Zherdev... Guys that act like that dont get long term contracts like that... |

Not necessarily. It would help the teams with more financial flexibility, but I don't think players with big contracts would be released as much as you think. Perfect example, would the Flyers release Briere right now? |

Well, they've not gotten a lot of PP or PK opportunities the last few games, so that "best team 5-on-5" claim is being confirmed before our very eyes. |
