when i see your face,
i can't help but feel ashamed of myself
i caused so much pain,
i was never there
i couldn't open myself up,
too scared to share the burden
to scared to bare my burning soul
my whole life, i've never felt good enough for anyone or anything
i've never tried, for fear of failing
self-destruction is the name of the game that i play when things go right
opportunity kicks down my door and i'm flying out the back
i know i (frank)ed it up, but you still said that there was hope
i didn't want it to turn out this way
and i'll bear the weight of the blame
i don't want it, but there will always be
hard feelings - 2Real

Right. But teams wouldn't just be willing to eat contracts with 20-30 million dollars remaining on them. NHL owners while being extremely wealthy, don't have endless piles of cash. - PLindbergh31
How many contract's have 20-30 million left on it... And dont forget.. A lot of cotracts are front loaded so by the time the player is older, then are only making a fraction of the cap hit... So if player X has a cap hit of 6 million for 4 years left, but is only getting paid like 2 million a season.... Now the Owners really make out.... They get to dump 28 million in cap hit for 8 million.... |

They went into the game with one goalie - and wouldn't you know it, said goalie gets injured two minutes into the first period.
A forward had to suit up and play the remainder of the game - hence the 13 goals allowed. Pretty sure Ryan Strome had 5 or 6 goals. - BoomGoesTheCoburn
Oh... I didn't read the entire article. My bad. How does a team go into a game with one goalie? |

I see your sarcasm... But I am going to seriously say I dont think the Refs are trying to screw the Flyers as much as its a sub-conscious reaction. The Refs have the broad street bullies in the back of thier minds... Thier team's announcers always saying how dirty they are, how thier actions hurt hockey... They might not be actively trying to screw the Flyers, but I think subconsiously they make tighter calls against them, and allow looser calls on thier opponents... Maybe not all Refs, but most.
And just so you know its not a Fan's biased opinion... I have a friend that is a Rangers fan, and he see's it too... He has a long running joke with me, that if a Ref see's 2 guys on the ice, but didn't see the play... "When in doubt, call a penality on the Flyers.." - RooNosHockey
There's nothing subconscious going on in the ref's minds. Officiating as a whole is very inconsistent in the NHL. with some Officials just being not very good at it. It is the same for every team. And if you talk to fans of just about every team, they'll swear there is the same subconscious thgihter calls against them, or conspiracy theory, or what ever you want to call it, going on against their team. |

He might be. Gerbe might be 5'3" - PLindbergh31
He was drafted from the Buffalo Mites on Ice.
Love his game. Probably the newest member of the "Favorite NHLers not on the Flyers" Club. Jamie Benn got in just before him. |

Yeah, that picture has to be photoshopped, or the angle makes it look deceiving. Pronger is 6'6" I believe, and Briere is 5'9". That picture looks like Pronger is 7 feet tall and Briere the size of mini-me. - PLindbergh31
My thoughts exactly, unless Pronger is just standing closer to the camera, screwing up perspective.

I met JR on the upper concourse of the Staples Center two years ago as he was about to head downstairs. Told him I was a long time Flyers fan. Asked if I could have my picture taken with him. He was totally cool and accommodating.
I know he spouts off from time to time, but I've always liked him. |

it really is amazing Gerbe plays as competitively as he does being so small. Playing against guys who are essentially a foot taller than him. |

I've stood next to each of them. Pronger towers over me, much as he does over Danny. I'm 5'5" and I'd put Danny at 5'7" at most. |

Agreed. He's like a wolverine. Love his game. I wouldn't mind a Briere-Gerbe fight, but the fight in the dog being bigger than the dog in the fight probably means Gerbe wins handily. |
