I've seen a lot of folks throw their lives away on pharmaceutical drug addictions over the past few years, more each year. Scary stuff.

A lot of folks get hooked on prescription opiates, run out of money or insurance and end up on heroin. Very sad.

Meth labs are becoming a problem as well. I worked for Dept of Ag here in PA and the guy giving a speech was from KY. He told us some stories of meth labs that he walked up to in the woods, cabins, etc.

I didn't mean to imply there aren't benefits to medicines. More concerning is that these folks hear "percocet" when they abuse these things, and it doesn't occur they're hooked on codeine. It's poor personal decision making all the same.

poop they just busted one up here in Lexington about 2 doors down from my wife's aunt's place in a nice little suburb like enclave next to a big modern church on the outskirts of town.


Places are basically unusable because of the chemical pollution after they have had a meth lab in them.

I'll tell you what bugs me too though, and was kinda the spur for my whole post that got this convo going....the pharm commercials. "Ask your doctor if blowitoutyourassix is right for you!"

Don't push that crap on people. I'm confident that if I need medecine, my care provider will shoot straight with me. I don't need a 1 minute spot on TV telling me to go get some expensive dope for my snotty nose.

That stuff there is about preying on people's fears and insecurities to drive up your profit margins. Pisses me off.

Here is something worse to think about.
Right now there are critical drug shortages in every hospital in the US.
Common drugs like antiemetics, morphine, beta blockers, and chemotherapy drugs are missing from pharmacy inventories. Once the drug goes generic, the pharm companies don't make big profits and they just stop manufacturing them.

It is criminal.
