Totally... Good for Carle standing up for Bryz. I think Skille kinda was pushed into Bryzgalov, but Carle wasn't happy with it.
Is that the first Carle fight since the tilt with Avery? - PLindbergh31
I think so. At least he picked a guy that was already shaken up this time. Evened the odds a little bit. Skille looked a bit dazed after he got up and Carle went right in an jumped him. I would feel bad for Skille if it was anyone besides Carle. But since it was Carle I was sure Skille was in no danger.
carle was the dman that kind of rode him into bryz. i don't ever remember him fighting, especially not avery. when was that? - hammarby31
IIRC, Avery kind of jumped him, or at least quick punched him after a brief shoving match, and then Avery pretty much tuned him up after Carle dropped his gloves.
No doubt. The coach and or GM continually let him talk his way into the lineup instead of just telling him he's not playing. The outcome has been Jagr departing several games early and leaving the team short. I don't get it. - PLindbergh31
Sure looked like he belonged playing in that first period to me. The player and the team know better then we do.

A lot of guys get tuned by 175 pound underwear models.

Carle was going to punch him but decided to not even take the risk of injuring his hand...smart move by Carle.

Yes, exactly. Timmy P. reported after the game that Avery's hands were in excruciating pain from all the punches he landed. Many believe the lingering effects of that fight are what led to the decline in Avery's play, and ultimately to his demotion and eventual release by the Rags.
So it could easily be argued that Matt Carle is the reason Avery is no longer an NHL player.

That alone is worth $5.5M on his next deal. - BringBack25
Exactly. So even if Carle loses the fight he still gets the win bc Avery isnt even in the NHL anymore.
