I think Detroit wins that bidding war. Suter is going to get around 6.5-7M easily. The Flyers are going to have to look elsewhere (trade) or sign Carle. - stveshdy
It wouldn't surprise me if Suter ended up in Detroit. He's a good defenseman, no question. I'd love to see him here, but they have to be wary of cost.
In the coverage tonight they had a stat w/ Matt Read in front in the rookie scoring race.....
I want to know if anyone has seen a stat with the team with the most points/goals from their rookies....I can only assume the flyers have more points/goals from their rookies than everyone else by a large margin
I would like the see that in % of the team points compared to other teams and also to past years b/c it seems this year is the year of the rookies for the flyers.....

Bill I think this would be a nice blog????? - huks99
You can look that up yourself using the stats on NHL.com. It would take a little bit of time to put it together.

If they miss out on Suter I'm trying to see who will be available the following year when Timonens deal ends.
Here are some interesting names: Enstrom, Edler, White, Weber (maybe)
Those guys are all players who are under 30.
Does it make sense to get Suter this summer when this list is the best available after next year?
That's definitely another consideration. Is it better to splurge on Suter this summer when you could potentially grab Weber or Edler next summer? - Jsaquella
I wouldnt mind if the Flyers landed Edler or Weber the following year but if they dont get Suter its a must to land one of those two the following year.
With prongers money (probably) comming off the books, I feel like we have enough to Keep grossmann, carle, mezz, coby, keemo, and use a rookie for the last spot. I would be ok with that, especially when you consider that this is a d man heavy draft so hopefully we get a nice prospect out of the first round. I would even keep Kubina if the cap hit was low.
Do we have anything in the 2nd and 3rd round or did we trade them?

I wouldnt mind if they held off. Don't break the bank and maintain what the Flyers have. Just imagine if JVR had a full season, When JVR does get his feet under him, He is gonna be great.

That's fine. Double his salary. I have no problem around 3.5 a year for his services. Whoever said he has helped coburn bring the snarl back to his game was spot on! - Just5
I said that a few games ago. It's like Coburn feeds off of how physical Grossmann plays. Grossmann has helped make the pairing of Coburn and himself a very solid one
