I think the number of games a goalie plays can be highly overrated. Bryz has two shutouts in a row and he'll be on the bench tonight, dont get it. Hopefully Bob gets the job done tonight. - stveshdy
“We talked about this, looking at the schedule and what was coming up,” Laviolette said before the game.
“The back-to-back and the fact Bryz has played 11 in a row, every other night, pretty much. It’s a chance to get a fresh goaltender in there.”
Bryzgalov went 8-2 during the 11 starts with a no decision. His goals against average was 1.95 and his save percentage was .929.
“You look at the schedule and what you have available, we got a guy who has been waiting and wants to get in there and play and this is a perfect spot to get him in there, as opposed to running Bryz down,” Laviolette said.
“When we started to look at it, we said we wanted to collect as many sets of two points as we can. We got New Jersey in a couple games here [on Tuesday, too]. This is where it’s coming up back-to-back, and the travel, and losing an hour, and the fact he started 11 in a row.
“This makes a lot of sense putting Bob in there. We got a lot of faith in Bob. He’s played well in New Jersey. We feel like we have a real good, young goalie with lots of energy in there tonight.”

I just want to say real quick, that may have been the greatest shootout move I've ever seen by Giroux last night. Simply breathtaking. The Goalie should have just skated out of the net, and let him shoot at the open net. Would have had just a good a chance of Giroux not scoring. - MJL
I've watched it like 10 times today. Just brilliant.

The Flyers lead the league in games played by rookies, with 353. The next closest team is the Minnesota Wild, with 258. Surprisingly, the Blues are dead last with 31 - more than ten times less than the Flyers total.
What a job the coaching staff has done with this young team. They have been able able to maximize the output of the kids, which has enabled them to plug them in with confidence amid a trainwreck of injuries.

It's going well. I'm leaving shortly to pick him up from his grandmother's.
He finished his winter season with a pair of games last weekend. He starts the spring season the weekend of the 31st. My wife and I figured we'd let him play the spring since 1) he broke his arm and missed 6 games and 2) his team wasn't really good and letting him play in spring with different kids would be a good experience. Unfortunately, the way the winter team was assembled, they had 2002 kids that just moved up to Squirts and every single one of the 2001 kids were first-year players, except the goalie. Made for a tough year, but it was nice to win the last game of the season. - Flyskippy
Good he's having fun! I'm getting a chance to help coach the local kids soccer team again, might do it.

It's his turn. - MJL
After two straight shutouts, don't know why the hell they would but Bob in though. I guess they know more than we do, wasn't last night Bryz's like 12th consecutive start also....?

11th. Laviolette mentioned the travel, back to backs and the lost hour to Daylight Savings.

That kid hasn't had one for a while.
I'd love for him to come up big tonight.
The Devils have a chance to make up some big points here though, game wont be easy by any means. - flyer_nutter
Should definitely be a good one, Devils are starting to give 60 minute efforts, there's lulls in every game, but lately, they've been tightening up defensively when it happens and have been playing smart. Usually, during the second period, we have at least a 5 minute stretch where we are playing either just average or we become stupid with our puck decisions, leading to turnovers.
