That is maybe the dumbest thing I have read on here. We arn't coming back 2 goals down anyways? really? Why even watch the game? - coffee junkie
the dumbest thing? really? really? give me a (frank)ing break. it's clear the flyers didn't have it tonight, and were not going to come back from 2 down against that team unless a miracle happened. i think we've all seen enough hockey to know how a game is probably going to end at a certain juncture.

Def not the dumbest (I have been on here for too many years) but why would you give up after 2 goals against a conference rival that you may see in POs and have a rivalry with? point is, you put better players out there at that point in the game and i would have sat Jagr forthe rest of the game for that terrible turnover at his own blue line.
Giroux needs to do a better job on defense. However, this is his first season being the top line center. - stveshdy
I thought he was good tonight defensively. With Briere doing less for the team than the guy collecting the lint from the jersey dryers, he carries a heavy burden game in and game out. Most of this third period....just throw it away.
Honestly is there a worse 2nd line center in the league right now?

i understood your point, and i'm not suggesting the team gave up. i was simply saying that 4th line had good jump much of the night, so perhaps lava felt that line gave them as good a chance as any to get a goal back. jagr is one of their better players, but you sit him for a mistake?

Kovy is a step in the right direction, he is an exciting 2 way player IMHO. - coffee junkie
I will never respect that organization.
How fans can pay actual money to watch that BS system every night is rediculous.
Have they won cups? Sure they have.. But they are a sorry excuse for a hockey team. Thats entertainment? I hope they rot in hell after Brodeur retires.

it's a hard call cause the guy is a work horse after hours and is a super star (potential ego issues). But yes. that play has been made by him too many times this year. Trying to go through 1, 2, 3, 4 players at bad spots on the ice. If we were going to lose anyways why not send a message.
tell him it's for the team to wake up and not make those plays and not just him if you need him to save face in front of the guys.
BTW: i need to make dinner, i'm out, didn't mean to offend. I was a bit pissed about the outcome. I still think no 4th line at that point but I over reacted.

i have to say i feel the opposite. i always respected the devils and love defensive hockey... frustrating the hell out of the opposition every night. one reason why im such a Hitchcock fan.
and nothing is more entertaining than winning.
and its not like theyre using the Guy Boucher method of absolutely no pressure.

Do they really chant something about sucking during the goal song? - eayost
Yeah, and I hate it.
They do the Hey chant with you suck following it. And then after the hey chants are done, they say "team X sucks" "team X sucks" to go along with the beat.
