I disagree. We support Giroux. But I was talking about Philly in general, not just Flyers... But your right about the perception part... For example... Chase Utley "is the man" Aaron Rowan..."For who? My teammates. For what? To win," These guys cant do anything wrong, no matter how bad they get... They are Philly guys... While Ryan Howard works just as hard and isnt as beloved... Jimmy Rollins is a punk IMO. I dont like his attitude, but he is a good player...

Giroux is a fiery competitive player who will get in your face, has a temper and a mean streak in him. He is not at all what you would call a finesse offensive player.

Finesse means a guy who plays a game without much contact. Giroux hits people and doesn't shy away from contact. Phil Kessel is a finesse player. Giroux isn't.

I don't think any one term applies, except maybe "all around exceptional player". He's got all elements to his game. I think his slightly shorter stature leaves many not noticing his physical game.

I never found it especially boring. There was always an element of hitting and they did have some skilled players over the years.

I do prefer the game that was played in the 1980's, but I prefer that over what we have now in the post lockout NHL, too
