Well, then they're not real fans. Mortgage payment versus watching Joey MacDonald play? |

To me Finesse has nothing to do with his personality, and more to do with the way he handles the puck.... But according to you i guess that makes Giroux a power forward? - RooNosHockey
I'm not discussing personality. I'm discussing how a player plays the game, on the ice. Nor did I come any where close to saying Giroux is a Power Forward.

$200 would probably be a suitable down payment out there |

In this economy, Detroit's has sucked. Please pontificate on theirs for a while. They're a recent opponent, too. - Flyskippy
Detroit fills 100% of their arena on average.... according to ESPN Attendance statistics. |

Finesse means a guy who plays a game without much contact. Giroux hits people and doesn't shy away from contact. Phil Kessel is a finesse player. Giroux isn't. - Jsaquella
If that's the definition of "finesse", then I 'd agree. Jagr and Briere fit that description more so that Giroux.
Although G plays with an edge at times, I'd still consider him a finesse player because of his offensive skills.

That was a brutal hit, did the player get suspended or anything? |

When I think of finesse guys, I definitely think more of guys that either have no phyical element to their game or actively avoid contact. Giroux can certainly play a finesse game, but I feel he's far to active physically to be tagged as a finesse guy...all opinion. |

Yea, if finesse means soft, then I guess Giroux isnt a finesse player. But I cant help but think finesse has more to do with how you handle the puck and skate then it does with lack of hitting and defense....
I mean tell me Giroux doesnt play with finesse after that shout-out goal... or when he pirouettes around a defender, or the way he stick handles, and threads passes though needle holes... To me his skill show more finesse then anything.... |

I have yet to see any announcement of discipline. But I'd bet he's getting something
Also, the CHL regular season ends in a week, so it's not as if Yakupov is done for a month or three-right now it's a week. |

The OHL has a strict no headshots rule, so the hit was in violation of that. Under Rule 48 in the NHL, I think that it would have gotten a game or two. Unlike Voracek, Yakupov didn't turn at all(however slight the turn was) immediately before contact. His head was down for bit and he didn't make an immediate move to make himself more vulnerable |

Yes. He certainly has an element to his game that is finesse. But so did Bobby Clarke, and Clarkie wasn't no finesse player |

Finesse has nothing to do with being soft. Giroux is elite with the puck. He can make pretty much every play there is to make. But he is not what I would call a finesse player. Carle is a finesse defenseman. Carter was a finesse forward. Briere is a finesse forward.

Brian Burke is mad because the other GM's dismissed his Bear Hug rule out of hand.
It's an interesting proposal-it would allow guys who are going for a hit to simply wrap a guy up prior to contact, to make the hit less impactful. |
