It's funny I hit a curb with my car cuz i was going around a bend and wiped out on black ice one time. All I did was bust the steering knuckle, control arm and bend the rim, nobody was involved but me and no injury. I call the tow truck to come get me oh and I'm like 102 yards from my house and a cop shows up right before the tow truck. He is like hell bent on giving me a ticket. So at utmost reluctance I pull out my get out of jail free card (yes they do exist and no it's not from a relative who is a cop ) to get out of this. As the truck is pulling the car onto the the flatbed he turns to me and says "yea this isn't worth the paperwork, you'd get this thrown out in court anyway"

I recommended the iPhone to him, but the idea that Macs always "just work" and PC's don't is wildly false. Which product is best for you depends a lot on needed functionality, personal preference, and technological aptitude.

@Joe - I've had two Android phones and loved them both. I have a Galaxy Nexus now, and it rocks. But with so many different makes and models of Android phones on the market, there are definitely some duds. Apple only makes one phone, and doesn't license the OS to other manufacturers, so it is a little easier for them to enforce quality control over both the hardware and the OS. But their phones are absurdly expensive. So it really does come down to personal preference, what features you need and what you're willing to pay for them. Best advice I can give on the subject is do your own research before you buy. Don't fall for a sales pitch at the store one way or another.

i like my google/droid phone and my husband has a droid as well, never had any problems with them and they last for years.

in the nyc area it seems like a lot of iphone users get very spotty service so when it comes time to look something up at work or pull up a menu all the iphone people come running to me to help, with my two or three year old phone.

Similar story down here in VA. ATT coverage is less than great over much of the state, and until recently that was the only carrier that offered the iPhone. Now that Verizon offers them, some folks actually have coverage now.

I've also found the Droids to be reliable, and I'm constantly tinkering with mine since I have it rooted. I love being able to mess with it and get it just the way I want it, although I know that's not everyone's idea of fun (geek alert).

I'm feeling like I probably didn't need it, because I have a special pocket for it in my handbag. But women I know who just drop it into one of those big handbags/totes seem to break the screen and have lots of issues. Only 1 new screen covered though.

all of my friends who use mac and iproducts are constantly in the shop or replacing them. i don't do that. i buy something and rag it until it dies. my PCs last me 6+ years no problems.
