If you are talking about Grossmann, I think I remember Bill saying the #s he heard where 3-3.25M/yr. - Marc D
I think it's going to be higher then that. Closer to 4.

So now, the media are ripping Bryz for not showing his personality.
Hey Marcus Hayes, suck my balls.

I got about halfway through this it's ingratiating on the nerves. On and On about the guy's personality. Enough already! Did he have to work on his technique? Oh wait the author of that article probably doesn't even know the difference between butterfly and standup goalie! TMz Tmz Tmz Tmz over and over again. Oh well we still have Meltzer's musings, moving along. |

Hayes is a condescending douche. Reminds me of Bill Conlin. He has that, "I am superior to you in every way and Im not afraid to show you" demeanor. When he is on DNL I basically turn it off.

I certainly like the 3-3.25 #. 4 is an interesting one. He has looked good in the small sample size of games here. Can we fit another 4? The cap dance with our D is becoming a real tetris puzzle. Good luck with that Homer |

He certainly hasn't hurt his case with his recent play.
I hope they work something out with him.
If Grossmann gets close to $4 and Carle comes in at ~5.25M, it is hard to see a scenario were they could sign both. But I really like the look of the Flyers defense these days, would be great to see it again next year.

He is absolutely one of the worst. Just a real blow hard with no real knowledge about any of the sports. He's the last guy that should be writing a Hockey article.

Lebrun in one of the video thingys on ESPN said that the cap (with revenue increases) could go up to 70 mill.
Of course that could all be moot depending on the new CBA.

We'll see. I could be over shooting it. But I just feel that Grossmann wants to make up for lost time, in that he hasn't had that mid level deal like Coburn had. And as a UFA, he'll want what he can get in the open market.

Again it will come down to him and his preference. Will he go to Columbus, or the Icelanders, for $4.5, or take less to play in Philly. Will it be worth it to him to make maybe a little less and have a chance at a cup every year. Or make more and finish in last.
Not saying this WILL happen or that those teams will even make offers like that. I am just relying on human nature in that, when you are talking about that kind of money, a little less to win would be my choice every time.
Again this is just an opinion. Based on my own competitive nature.

yea and unfortunately we have very few mainstream journalists these days who work close up with the team to actually get into the nuts and bolts of how things work. Instead it's he said, she said, this one feels this way that one feels another way, so and so's feelings are hurt but nothing to do with the actual game or intricacies of it.
Oh and this story of Danny Briere and the "meeting" is just Hillarious. I'm sorry but one empty netter in two months doesn't quite get him off the schneid with me. |

I wonder about what Voracek re-signs for.
I bet there will be a large difference between the starting points between the team and the player's agent. |

I thought since he's a RFA it's a matter of the FLyers making a qualifying offer. |

The telling point on Briere's evening was how he actually won a big puck battle, with two Devils on him along the wall to set up the second goal.
The empty netter was good, but him winning a puck battle at a very key moment with it 1-1 was huge. |
