I wasn't even aware that Luongo's wife, who's husband has a 11 yr contract for Vancouver, didn't live in Vancouver. And if players' wives demanded trades for their husbands every time they cheated, half the league would have been traded at the TDL. My girlfriend got a picture with Kesler at the Flying Pig (Yaletown) and she was saying Kes's wife was giving her the look of death. You know darn well he's got a small army of puck bunnies in every port.

Well who really knows the extent of it. Maybe he was putting tiger woods to shame. Maybe he didn't cheat on her at all and they're just going through a rough patch in there relationship. I think it's certain though that they're really not doing well and him living, pretty much the furthest you can get in north america away from her, doesn't help the situation. |

Sure sign poop isnt going well, you sign a long term deal in Vancouver and she stays across the continent doesnt speak volumes about how well things are going. |

He will be traded to Florida or Tampa before the draft. - Scooby_Doo
Do you think he has more value than Schneider?
From Tampa
Hedman or Connolly plus their first.
Florida has Markstrom but maybe they dont think he's ready for a few years? I dont know why they'd take that contract though when they have him waiting in the wings.
Maybe Gudbranson? |

Agreed since Florida see Markstrom as their future #1. TB wouldn’t trade wither Hedman or Connolly to take back Luongo’s 10 year contract. Giving up one of those guys would be 1 step forward 1 step back. Draft picks is likely the best we can do. |

Didn't mean it as an excuse. More that it's easier to travel 3.5 hours with no time change than to travel 5 with 2 hours difference.
in a perfect world we play Calgary
1 hour flight, easy team, don't cross the boarder, exciting hockey
really no downside - IanEsplen

Maybe a pick and a prospect, but still considering Lou's contract, that aint too bad, Tampa also needs a goalie, if the Nucks make this trade then they had best be sure Schneids is ready to take the reigns, if not could be a bad idea, does it happen in the off season or early next season if it happens at all? |

I think much will be decided this playoffs. If Schneider takes the reigns or gets a good run of games and performs well then the future might have already be written. One thing for sure though, there is nothing left for Schneider to prove in his current capacity. He puts in a 3 stars performance virtually every game he plays and was lights out during his 5 or 6 game run when Lu was injured (including back to back SOs). Playoff performance would be his last trial. |

The Canucks actually have great depth at the goalie position. Eddie leads a strong group of Canuck goalie prospects that also includes 2011 NCAA Hobey Baker Award finalist Joe Cannata.

Not only will we be ok, we'll be better off. We don't even have to get anything back from a Lu trade to improve... We instantly improve in net, and we free up space to acquire or retain someone important. Well, then again... Now that depends on being able to lock up Schneider for a reasonable cap hit... |

Didn't know about Cannata. Barring some weird turn of events where both Lu and Schneids are still here next season, Lack will more than likely be the back-up. |

Ummm not to speculate or to get 90% of you to get boners... but Im hearing that Luongo's off ice problems have intensified. I'm not sure if any of you remember but earlier in the year there were rumors that Luongo cheated on his wife and that their marriage was rocky. They had a mini split but they're back together and apparently she wants him to be close to her but she wont move here. Also there were rumors that the Canucks had preliminary talks with at least two teams on a deal to send him closer to home. Most likely Tampa was one of them. Has anyone else heard this stuff? - Boinker

Do you have any actual verified information that Luongo's wife and young daughter don't live here in Vancouver during the season? It was common knowledge she was staying in Florida a couple of years ago because she was having a difficult pregnancy, but I haven't heard anything that suggests she and their young child are still there. It could be considered unusual if that's the case, but if it's not, then you're doing nothing more than fabricating rumors about a player's family situation and spreading silly gossip. Which is pretty low even by the standards for this site. |

Maybe when Lucic is in his last contract year before he becomes a UFA the Canucks can trade Cannata to the Bruins for him. Kinda like a prisoner exchange.

Tampa has a similar long contract that they might be looking to trade. Not saying I want him but Lecalvier maybe. |
