Repeated concussions are pretty serious if you ask me. I think guys like Primeau and Lindros would agree. Still getting dizzy spells, not being about to be out in the sun. Sounds serious to me. Tragic about your buddy, but just because it's not worst case scenario it doesn't mean concussions aren't serious. A lot of recent research will tell you that. Some good articles online about how life altering concussions can be. I can send you some if you want to give them a read. - woopstash
Sorry, since reading your posts I've recieved a serious head injury. I get dizzy reading poop. |

Guess I am just naive. I would think if a team like Detroit had a bunch of cheating, dirty guys on their team Mike Holland and Babcock would deal with it severely. Too bad it's OK or ignored on the Canucks. - woopstash
The management and coaching staff would be the last to know. Sometimes even teammates have no idea... It's not like these guys don't try to keep their Love Lockdown (Kanye voice). It's the chicks who end up blabbering about it to all their friends when they feel scorned... There's no way a team could justify disciplining a player over a rumor like that. |

Mock it all you want, but you must have been hiding under a rock for the last couple years. Go and do some research on the effects of concussions then come and crack some more jokes. Concussions cause a lot of serious health problems and I don't think it's something to laugh at. Dimentia, loss of motor skills at early ages and very early deaths are hilarious!!!!! |

So posters on hockeybuzz know all about these things, but team mates have no idea? Seems to be some holes here... |

There’s no way a sports team would start disciplining anyone over infidelities. The majority of athletes, like musicians, (both single and married) run rampant. The only thing I really find naïve about this fact is the women who marry these guys and expect a faithful guy. I imagine the majority know what they’re signing up for though and largely look the other way. Out of sight out of mind. |

Running rampant? Really? Maybe a couple guys I could see, but to think the majority of guys on the team are running around cheating is scary. |

Why the he!! do you care anyway? What are you part of the marriage police or just feel like b!tching just to b!tch and troll over here? I'd hate to see how you act when your team isn't playing good if you are this way when they are. Why are you even in here as a Penguins fan and caring if athletes are cheating on their wives for crying out loud? Give it a rest...did you get your period this morning? |

I have friends who have been hit on by many athletes. Including a certain Canadian basketball star who you would think wouldn't do that....while he was still married. |

Why does everything with you have to be Luongo VS Schneider? This has nothing to do with Schneider... These rumors were a hot topic a few years ago. - DrChristianTroy
Your main 'scenario' is Luongo versus Schneider.
Those "rumours" were exactly that -- and completely unsubstantiated. Kind of like the house Gaborik was getting built for his tenure as a Canuck and the 'ranch' Luongo was getting built up in the Cariboo.
When rumours become truth it is usually nothing to do with the 'credibility' of the rumours. Every season at TDL there are many rumours about what Gillis will do. They are always wrong and he always does something no one has even considered. In other words, even if Luongo agrees to be traded it would have nothing to do with any of these rumours. |

Get a grip, it might very well be true? Then why has nobody heard anything about it. Radio, newspapers, TV. The only guy who knows all about Luongo's private life is a poster on hockeybuzz. Please. Maybe we could ask him why the Sedins are slumping as well. I heard they were spending some time late at night down at the horse track. Gillis was shopping them before the deadline and offers were made but the asking price was Crosby and Malkin. I can confirm it. - woopstash
I know a girl very well that dated Chris Higgins this year. I know for a fact she was... she showed me texts she went to at least 15 games this year. She'd always post pics on her facebook. Her friends were also banging a few of the Canucks. Tanev and Hodgson always texted another one of her/my friends. I found out through them. It was also rumored by HW who fancies herself a Canucks insider she was right with Torres signing. She claims to be in the know with Canucks wives. She posts on hf boards claiming the same thing. I heard it at the beginning of the year when Schneider was on that run and Luongo had the "flu" when the Canucks called Lack and Climie up. Apparently Luongos wife was in town and they were going through serious personal issues. I guess take it with a grain of salt. Where there's smoke there's generally fire. Insert cliche here. |

True story. But I doubt a guy with 13 bans on his rap sheet needs anymore trouble. |

Here's another story that's kind of funny...
Apparently when Brent Sopel was a Canuck, every time he and his wife would get into a fight, she'd flush her wedding ring down the toilet or throw it in the ocean or do something else dramatic with it.
Needless to say, my jeweller acquaintance was sorry to see him leave town (both times). |

I think what we should do...what would be really funny....is start rumors about players cheating on there wives so they all have massive fights and play real poopty and we can use a rating system, but because you started it we will use B1, B2, B3 and B4. B5 when its been confirmed. Shut the (frank) up about players cheating on their wives. |

Someone is a little touchy today. I as well am worried that starting rumors on hockeybuzz will cause fights between players. We all know that on team flights Raymond among others is notorious for reading through the hockeybuzz forums and I'm sure he wouldn't hesitate to bring up these rumors to the rest of the team. |

Depends on the smoke. Sometimes when there's smoke there's riding the waves, crashing on the shore and a lot of stories -- far more interesting than all these stories here...and that's all they are.
Anyone who is truly an insider wouldn't be posting around here or places like this. Claims denied. |

Serious head injury? Are you kidding me! I have a friend who got a serious head injury on a construction site and now he can't tie his own shoes. A hydraulic nail gun fell off the scaffolding, fell four stories, and basically carved off half his melon.
Crosby's head injury prevents him from being the best hockey player in the world. It doesn't stop him from being himself or able to lead a "normal" life. Your definition of serious head injury is comical at best. - bloatedmosquito
Your example excluded, you must realize that concussions/head injuries can decimate an athlete's life after the 'glory days'. The NFL has learned over the years the devastating effects head shots can have. Hopefully the NHL can learn from them and do something about it. Crosby (or any other) could end up as seriously affected as any head injury. You cannot say that his injury is not serious with any credibility. |

I guess I know more gold digging whores than the average guy, so I didn't think twice about it.
As far as why they were never reported? 99% of these things go unreported... The media won't touch it, and the girl will stay silent either because she's being financially taken care of, or manipulated emotionally into being a loyal "side-chick". - DrChristianTroy
...and yet you just happen to know about it? |
