Depends on the smoke. Sometimes when there's smoke there's riding the waves, crashing on the shore and a lot of stories -- far more interesting than all these stories here...and that's all they are.

Guess I am just naive. I would think if a team like Detroit had a bunch of cheating, dirty guys on their team Mike Holland and Babcock would deal with it severely. Too bad it's OK or ignored on the Canucks.

Your example excluded, you must realize that concussions/head injuries can decimate an athlete's life after the 'glory days'. The NFL has learned over the years the devastating effects head shots can have. Hopefully the NHL can learn from them and do something about it. Crosby (or any other) could end up as seriously affected as any head injury. You cannot say that his injury is not serious with any credibility.

In all seriousness, I think I can comment on the seriousness of his brian injury. If it was serious then his career would be over and he would be spending his millions on rehabilitation and nursing assistance. I don't like to use words frivolously. In the case of Crosby's concussion, the word 'serious' was used incorrectly.

I think what we should do...what would be really funny....is start rumors about players cheating on there wives so they all have massive fights and play real poopty and we can use a rating system, but because you started it we will use B1, B2, B3 and B4. B5 when its been confirmed. Shut the (frank) up about players cheating on their wives.

He just responds to everything I post with a polar opposite opinion, paired with an attack on my opinion. Never anything to back up his POV, as he doesn't believe in stats...

I didn't start the rumor, I'm just reiterating rumors I've heard. I could care less about players cheating on their wives, but this particular instance has a massive effect on the franchise. Vancouver is the furthest place from Florida. If she wants him closer to her, he'll have to ask for a trade. Which coincides with the fact everybody thinks Schneider is gonna be the one traded but maybe it'll be Luongo. I didn't bring anything up I heard earlier in the year, but when I read other people talking about on message boards, it piqued my interest.

Wasn't Crosby's long-term problem proven to be neck related? Concussions are obviously a growing problem, but IMO they've been blown way out of proportion since Crosby suffered his 1st... Especially if all of his complications were misdiagnosed as concussion symptoms when they were actually symptoms of a neck injury.

Concussions are pretty serious as recent research is proving. Bloated Mosquito was making fun and insulting those who have suffered from them before and saying they aren't serious. I found it to be in poor taste as we are finally realizing how serious the effects of concussions are. Guess he didn't agree.

I've never heard he asked for a trade ...I just heard his wife wasn't happy with him. Don't you find it kind of strange that a player has played in a city for six years and has another 10 to go and hasn't spent a season in that city with him. She obviously doesn't like him playing here and loves her home in Florida and if what I've heard has a little truth to it than, let's just say don't be surprised if Luongo is in a Lightning jersey next year. I'll stop now......jeez sorry I even brought it up.... I figured I'd create a healthy debate.
