Doan is going to get huge money which is scary. Very little worth going after tbh. We might need to package some pieces and make a trade
Sadly, Weber, Diaz, Bourque, Gionta, Gomez, Kaberlol have no value. Even with slim pickings such as those on July 1 - muffin_man
patience....it's the only way to rebuild this team. With only a handful of prospects in the pipeline...we will have to be very patient. Thank you Bob Gainey!!!! |

buy out gomez...bring in a guy like brassard...draft forsberg...sign a dman and a good bottom 9 forward and i think were battling for a pla yoff spot - sensrule71
Markov here for the whole season and we're IN a playoff spot this year.
Buying out Gomez costs A LOT

these next 2 years are key years in the rebuild...either by trading the 2eds we have to try and obtain firsts or stock piling the players we get with the 2eds |

Oh I agree. notice I had no one worth anything in my trade chips. and I'd only trade for 25 and under players |

not if theres a buy out window with no cap consequences - sensrule71
IF that happens, it happens in September. For Gomez to stil be buyoutable, you have to not buy him out diuring the ACTUAL buyout window. risky unless youre wiling to eat the 10M he's due in the minors over the next 2 years. |

it would be better that way then atleast hes playing under you and you have no cap hit. he really brought it on himself when a trade was set out for him and he squashed it... |

Unless its a significant upgrade, no need trade our 2nds. Thats how we got into this mess.
Also, where is everyone screaming that we should have kept the Wiz instead? |

it would be better for the team absolutely. But, Geoff Molson has to say "Sure, pay the Mexican't $10M of my money for doing nothing"
Would you give someone $1000 to stay away from you because he's a bad coworker? |

Eat the money, probably takes 3 or 4 playoff home games to get that money back. |

Congrats, you have found 2 other richer, dumber organizations who have done similar things. You didn't answer my question though. |
